After discovering that the cafeteria uses GMOs, Lisa does some research on the subject for the whole town.

She decides that the foods are good for the world and is invited to Monsarno research campus. The Simpsons discover that Sideshow Bob is working as their chief scientist.

While the other family members dismiss Bob, Lisa feels a bond with the genius. The two bond over their mutual love of literature and science until Bob reveals that he has been genetically modifying his genes as well. Bob snaps and nearly kills Bart and Lisa, but Lisa is able to talk him down from his rage.

Meanwhile, Marge tries to run a teenage celibacy pledge at the church.
