There's no better way to spend Christmas Eve than at the beach trapped in a sinkhole with the tide coming in.
In Scorpion Season 1 Episode 12, Walter risks his life multiple times in order to save Owen. Seeing as how Walter has interacted with people in the past, it is great to have a case that shows how far Walter will go to save Owen's life.
Walter doesn't come off as cold, rude, or uncaring at all during the episode. In fact, he makes a point to keep his word to Owen.
One fun aspect of this case is the media. It is entertaining to watch the media coverage unfold. Plus, they refer to Walter as a heroic citizen. This is just a fun twist to take to the team solving a case. The media doesn't really help out the investigation, but they don't hinder it either. They are just there reporting on it and hijacking Skype feeds.
Now that there are pairs of characters working well together, nobody seems prepared to mix any of them up. Megan and Sylvester, Happy and Toby, Walter and Paige, Megan and Walter, and Cabe and Walter. These are the pairs that will have the heart-to-heart conversations. There is very little variation.
Don't get me wrong, the Toby and Happy conversation about Happy's dad was great. But, Happy could have had the conversation with someone else. There could have been time spent working on relationship growth between other characters.
I'm not saying that Cabe and Walter should never have a heart-to-heart type scene together, but maybe Cabe could have one with Sylvester or Happy. Things need to be switched up a bit to shake off the dust. Are there any two characters you really want to see spending more time together?
Sylvester wasn't doing so well. He was making miscalculations. It is nice to see Sylvester slip up in ways that he normally doesn't. Even though he has been afraid on a case before, his calculations have been on point. This time, they're weren't. Sylvester still can't shake what happened to him.
Stay strong? I've never been strong.Sylvester
What's a little annoying is how quickly he jumped to quitting the team. He doesn't really consider different options. At least he provided reasons for wanting to quit, and Megan shot down all his answers. Megan and Sylvester are a great pair.
She told him that Sylvester needed to start living his life not afraid of fear. Sylvester took Megan's words to heart. He went to the extreme though. Come on, the next logical step is not to go hold up a rock that is about to fall. But hey, it is great to see Sylvester jump into a situation unafraid.
Things went really well for Happy. She finally came clean to her father, or rather her father told her he knows who she is. This could have definitely been dragged out for awhile, but I'm kind of glad it wasn't. Happy is really developing as a character. Did anyone else start crying when Patrick said he knew who Happy was?
I spent my childhood sprinting from bullies. It is about to pay off.Toby
Paige was decently useful in this episode. She kept Owen calm, and when she realized he couldn't be calm anymore, she made it known. Sometimes Paige's stories are just OK, and others great. This was in the middle. She was crucial to the case because she kept Owen calm, but it would have been nice to see her do something more.
