The Simpsons: Renewed for 27th and 28th Seasons!

The longest-running scripted television series in history has just been renewed for two additional seasons.

Fox announced today The Simpsons will be back for both a 27th and 28th season, bringing the total number of episodes to 625. 

"I've outlasted Letterman, Jon Stewart and 'McDreamy' because I have something they don't: a costly 200-donut-a-day addiction," said Homer Simpson.

Airing since 1990, The Simpsons is not only recognizable throughout the world, but has won 31 Emmy Awards, 31 Annie Awards, a 2015 People's Choice Award, was the first animated series to win a Peabody Award and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for the theatrical short "The Longest Daycare."

Try saying that 31 times really fast!!

The Simpsons Season 26 Episode 21, "Bull-E" airs this Sunday, May 10 with guest star Albert Brooks as therapist/reformed bully Dr. Raufbold, who is treating Homer after Bart is bullied, Marge urges Springfield to pass anti-bullying legislation and Homer is subsequently arrested. Doh!
