Scorpion Season 3 Episode 13 Review: Faux Money Maux Problems

at .  Updated at .

You know, sometimes it takes a thief to get the job done, and I'm not just saying that because I recently started watching Leverage on Netflix.

On Scorpion Season 3 Episode 13, the majority of Team Scorpion (Happy and Toby not included) and Veronica are drugged and kidnapped.

This is why you should not take a limo to a winery guys. The other reason is that it's just douchey.

Grifting Skills - Scorpion

Honestly, when it became apparent that Veronica was going to be a big role in this episode, there was some concern.

She isn't the most likable character, and it's been hard to really connect with her. .

The fact that she's a con woman has been a hindrance, but this episode showcases that Veronica can be entertaining and an asset.

Veronica's a lot more likable. It was fun seeing her be so confident and brazen when talking to Lucinda about the proper way to counterfeit American currency.

Veronica was also the one who provided the escape route.

The rest of Team Scorpion wasn't making any headway.

The only issue with Veronica's newfound importance is that Paige did not come off as the brightest tool in the box.

She seemed confused as to why Veronica did anything, like look outside.

Isn't trying to figure out your surroundings one of the first things you should do in that situation?

Paige Dineen may not be a genius, but she's not stupid. It would have been nice to see her participate more in the case, instead of having Veronica do all the heavy lifting.

Veronica: I mean yes I threw you in the deep end when you were a child, but you learned how to swim on your own.
Paige: You're turning abandonment into a recipe for successful parenting?
Veronica: You can't argue with success.

The case overall was kind of meh.

There wasn't any real thrill to it; nothing kept you anywhere near the edge of your seat.

When in Rome - Scorpion Season 3 Episode 13

When Happy and Toby weren't kidnapped, there was this hope that maybe they would save the day.

Instead, they went back to the garage and decoded a key fob.

It was essential to solving the case, but when you've got the majority of the team kidnapped, you kind of expect a rescue mission.

It just would have been nice to see Toby and Happy take the lead on a case, but at least Veronica played a major role.

Who would have thought that a conch would provide so many laughs? Also, let's face it, the conch was the best part of the entire hour.

Walter's conch idea is all kinds of adorable, as was his attempts throughout the case to not take control and decide what the team will be doing, like he normally does.

What's even better is that this was a moment of growth for Walter.

Okay, yes, it did not last very long (RIP invisible conch), but Walter saw a flaw in how he operates as team leader, and he did his best to correct it.

Cabe: In the limo, you said a single spark could set off an explosion.
Walter: Yeah, that's what we want. Are we all in agreement?
Sly: I'm just going to grab the imaginary conch for a second here and say that I am concerned that if you light that match, it means the entire building, including us, will go kablooey!
Walter: I will set an explosion on a timer using the smoke alarm. The potassium chlorate on the match tips will ignite after a few seconds of connecting to the batteries, and then we will ride it out in that vault.
Happy: I'm going to take your invisible conch now, buddy, and tell you that your plan is crazier than a poop house rat.
Walter: The steel should be strong enough to shield us from the blast.
Toby: Taking the virtual conch, agreeing with actual fiance.
Sly: If I could take the virtual conch, just for a second.
Walter: Everyone just stop with the virtual conch! You know who has the virtual conch? The guy with the 197 IQ. And you know what's happening to it? [breaks virtual conch] The conch is dead. I am the conch. Scorpion is not a democracy. It is a logical dictatorship.

This was not prompted by Paige or someone else directly commenting on how Walter runs Scorpion. It was all Walter.

Hopefully, we will continue to see Walter attempt to better himself, and I would personally love it if the conch made another appearance.

It would also be nice if either Walter's crazy plans weren't always right or if someone else on the team agreed with him.

While Walter does have the highest IQ, everyone else isn't an idiot.

What did you think of the episode? Any theories as to why Veronica needs Paige's help? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Scorpion Season 3 Episode 13 Quotes

Veronica: What if I said it was bring your mom to work day?
Paige: I'd say that it doesn't exist. I'd ask you where you'd been, but I'd probably get a lie.

Honesty will get you points at the pearly gates. In politics, it gets you crushed.
