Scorpion Season 3 Episode 14 Review: The Hole Truth

at .

Veronica's a Waige shipper till she dies and then even after that.

On Scorpion Season 3 Episode 14, Paige and Veronica have some mother daughter bonding time by pulling off a con. Normal activities are so boring, don't you think?

For the first time in forever ever, Paige and Veronica are actually entertaining to watch. They are getting along, and Paige is actually pretty good at conning people. The skill must run in the family.

A Massive Sinkhole - Scorpion

Veronica's been a hard character to like, but this episode does wonders for her. She isn't my favorite character by any means, and she should definitely stay gone for a while, but she's a lot more likable than she was when we first met her on Scorpion Season 3 Episode 9.

She could even return (late) next season, and I think I'd be happy to see her. Will you miss Veronica?

There was not a minute where it was an actual possibility that Veronica died by falling into a sinkhole. For one, she's not an idiot. She knows not to stand too close to the edge.

Secondly, after the whole conversation where Paige shares her dislike of the idea of Veronica constantly being on the run, you know that Paige is coming up with a plan. The fake out never really worked.

It's not a bad way to send Veronica off though. It got her out of the trouble she's in, and she left with an air of mystery, similar to how she was introduced.

Crafty Solution - Scorpion Season 3 Episode 14

The case itself is a vast improved from recent ones. It gets the blood pumping, and the supporting characters are actually entertaining. Between Chief and the guy who doesn't respect Sly, they are an entertaining bunch.

Definitely the best part of the case is the Walter focus, specifically watching him try to interact with people without getting punched.

Paige: You don't need me for a simple engineering job, so I'm going to help my mom out with something.
Toby: We're dealing with civilians. It's always good to have you there as a buffer.
Paige: You'll be fine. Besides, it's good EQ practice for Walter, and who knows, maybe he'll finally start acting like a polite, normal, human being.
Walter: Attention mole rats!

Happy and Toby tried their best to fill Paige's shoes, and they did not do the best job. Their failure is our entertainment.

Well, Toby was better than Happy, but they were still nowhere near as effective as Paige. It was really fun to see them try.

Someone should have been worried about Walter's EQ, and Quintis was perfect for the job. I don't know about you, but I'm really curious about all the places that Walter has been banned from and why.

A flashback to an early Team Scorpion could be really entertaining. We could see how everyone has grown as a team since the addition of Paige. Walter isn't the only person that Paige has helped. It would also just be really interesting to see how the team dynamic has changed.

I'm never giving up hope on my dream of a Team Scorpion origin episode.

Anyways, this case really showcases how important Paige is to the team. Happy only got through to Walter when she told him to use the tools that Paige provided him.

You may not always notice Paige's contributions, but she is a vital part of making Team Scorpion run smoothly. Seeing the team work a case without her was a great way to showcase this. My only wish is that, in the future, we see how Paige has helped everyone, not just Walter.

Sinkhole - Scorpion Season 3 Episode 14

Going back to Walter being punched repeatedly, the best part about it is that Walter genuinely does not understand what he did wrong. You can tell he's frustrated that just about everything leads back to him getting punched.

His frustration a nice reminder that Walter does not realize how he is coming off all of the time. Sure, he knows that he's usually always insensitive, but it's not what he is thinking about when he is trying to save a kid's life.

Paige is usually there to remind him that how he speaks to people is just as important as saving the day. Walter's made a lot of progress, as you can see by him knowing how to fix things with Chief, but he still has a long way to go.
