I don't know about you, but I think Owen would be the better team leader.

On Quantico Season 2 Episode 15, there's still some team drama that gets worked out, but, for the most part, it's all entertaining drama. There aren't any petty high schoolers this time around, thankfully. 

Let's start with the good: Owen and Clay's leadership battle.

Clay is in a leadership role, but he recruited most of his team's Farm trainer. Who did Clay think the team was going to report to? 

This provides some tension between Owen and Clay. It's fun to watch, mainly because Owen treats Clay as a recruit. I mean Owen's not wrong to do it; Clay needs training.

Everyone going to Owen made sense. He was brought in to whip them into shape, and he did just that. Clay, on the other hand, has been almost like a figurehead. He briefs the team, but that's about it.

There are some great character moments between Owen and Clay because of this tension. We get to see the two of them open up to each other and discuss the op in a way we won't get to see with Alex and Shelby, for instance. Owen and Clay look at the mission from different viewpoints, and it's fascinating. 

While Clay blamed Owen, I think Owen was right; Clay needs to act like a leader to be treated like one. He doesn't do anything other than brief the team and wait for them to give him intel. Clay has never stepped up.

Clay still has to prove he's worth the title of "boss."

Owen helps the team with their missions. He reassured Harry and Alex that their cover wasn't completely blown, and he helped give them the confidence to get the intel.

Owen: They're agents. They are used to getting their criminal. Waiting is not their thing, but you and I know waiting. For politicians like you, it's all the long game. And I've waited a long time to be operational.
Clay: So what do I tell them?
Owen: You lie. Tell them they've won. They saved the day.

What has Clay done? He's been rude to his team.

The Shelby issue makes sense. She slept with his brother and father. They had their tiff, and they've moved past it. If we could stop with the shipper moments that would be great, though.

Clay's distrust of Nimah came out of nowhere. Maybe it got lost in all the drama from Quantico Season 2 Episode 14, but Clay's wariness of Nimah came on really strong during this mission. 

It felt like Nimah needed a reason to be a BAMF during the mission, so Clay all of a sudden had to distrust her and seclude her from the rest of the team.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Nimah kicking ass, but Clay's attitude towards her cheapened the whole thing for me.

Also, Nimah, girl, do you not have anyone else's phone number? When Clay ducked her call, Nimah should have called literally anyone else on the team. If she has Clay's number, then she has to have Owen's, right? 

It's a small thing, but it did not make any sense why Nimah would give up on calling her team after Clay didn't answer her once. Nimah knew what the stakes were and that the mission was going on, so she should have kept calling. She could have been calling people while driving to the town. (Calling over bluetooth, obviously. Safety first.)

You know what else didn't make any sense? The lack of discretion of the team. 

Ryan getting spotted by Sasha was eye roll worthy. Journalists aren't stupid. If they are out investigating a chemical explosion that never happened, because I'm sure someone would have figured it out eventually, they are going to start taking photos and looking into everyone that was on site that day.

Don't have your face easily accessible, especially if you are a CIA operative. I kind of feel like Ryan is awful at being CIA. What do you think? 

Okay, a show of hands, who else teared up at Alex's speech to Harry about opening up? 

Alex: You joke your way around everything because you're afraid to make a connection, maybe because the closest connection you ever made died right in front of you, and I get that. After my father died, I separated from the world, hid inside myself, buried myself so deep there was no where else to go. And then I met Ryan and Shelby and Nimah and Raina and Simon, and they had all been through so much themselves, but they could still smile. And they wanted to get to know me! Just like I want to get to know you.
Harry: Mhmm, and all those connections, how did they work out for you? Huh? Simon Asher, he good? Raina Amin, is she around here somewhere? I'm still waiting for that save the date card for you and Alabama.
Alex: Ryan and I might not be together, but we're very, very connected. I think about him. I worry about him all the time. I'm his friend, just like I'm your friend, Harry. Look there's space for you here, but you have to choose it. You can walk out that door and end up where you always end up - separate and alone. Or you can stay here and let us in. I'm not going anywhere, and I will not leave you.

It's no secret that I adore Harry and Alex, and this hour is a perfect example as to why they are so great to watch.  Whether it is going undercover together or just being there for each other, Harry and Alex are a great team. She will always be in his corner.

Alex sharing Harry's faults was a much better glimpse into who Harry is than all of the Sebastian, Elliot, and MI6 family storylines. Those dragged down the story unnecessarily, while Alex's insight was an asset. 

Her words helped Harry take a shot and ask to be on the team. It wasn't a storyline that dragged on for half a season, but it wasn't a rushed scene either. It was perfect. Are you glad that Harry is officially on the team now?
