iZombie Round Table: Welcome To Zombie Club, Clive!

Team Z is back in action!

So many awesome moments came out of iZombie Season 3 Episode 1. One of the best is just how amazing and effective Clive is now that he's aware of all things zombie.

Of course, after the brutal murder of a zombie kid who was like a son to him, he's more invested in the impending zombie revolution than ever before.

Join TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Amanda Steinmetz, Jasmine Blu, and Yana Grebenyuk as they discuss "Heaven Just Got A Little Bit Smoother."

What are your thoughts on Vivian? Do you think her motives are genuine or is there something sinister about her?

Allison: I don't trust her at all. I think she's behind the murder of Wally and his family. There's no way it's a coincidence that the one zombie kid Clive knows and cares about ends up murdered soon after their reunion. I think Vivian did that to help try to sway Liv and Major to join her side, and it worked.

Amanda: I totally agree with Allison! Vivian can't be trusted at this point. She could very well turn out to be the big villain of the season. I also wouldn't be surprised if she was behind Wally's family's murder.

Jasmine: I don't trust her as far as I can throw her. I have terrible upper body strength so that isn't very far. I feel like it's too obvious to put her into "villain" territory just yet, so I can see the show going back and forth on whether or not she's good or bad.

She very well could have had something to do with Wally's death, though. The timing was too coincidental and it was just the thing to get Clive invested.

Yana: I'm not sure if I trust Vivian or if we're supposed to think she can't be trusted, I don't know. Now I'm wondering if maybe we are meant to think she isn't on their side only to find out that she is. But Wally's death and the way she reacted when she saw Liv was sketchy.

Major was exonerated but he's still ostracized and being treated like a killer. Now he's joining Vivian's army. Discuss.

Allison: I'm not surprised. He really needs a job, and it wouldn't have been realistic if the whole "Chaos Killer" thing blew over that quickly. Major does have a thing for working for potentially evil companies. The fact that Major took a job at Fillmore-Graves suggests that he believes in them and their zombie island.

Amanda: Just because his name was cleared doesn't mean people won't still think he's guilty. Major turning to Fillmore-Graves is inevitable. It's just interesting that he was so initially against the concept of zombies, but now that he is one of them, he's ready to dive in.

Jasmine: He's that guy that always needs a cause to fight for. This is just another way he'll fight for one. It is interesting that he's so invested in being a zombie now. I guess acceptance was inevitable. Plus, like Allison said, dude needs a job.

Yana: That won't end well. It's almost too easy for Major to not find a job besides this one and it's everything that he's looking for? But they do need a man on the inside so I want to see how this plays out.

The Ravi, Peyton, Blaine love triangle is even more awkward than before. Are you Team Ravi or Team Blaine?

Allison: I have to pick??? I definitely fell more in love with Peyton and Blaine during the premiere, but I still don't trust Blaine and his "amnesia." However, Ravi was a jerk for ignoring Peyton's call and voicemail.

Amanda: Ultimately I think Ravi is the better man for Peyton, but it's hard to ignore the chemistry between her and Blaine. I think their future will depend on whether or not Blaine is lying about his amnesia.

Jasmine: Sorry, Allison! Both. I'm with Amanda. In the long run, totally Ravi. However, I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this Peyton and Blaine thing because they have amazing chemistry and I can't ignore it.

Yana: I'm Team Peyton actually. It doesn't look like she's completely safe right now and that should be the top priority. But Blaine is definitely hiding something and I've always been Team Ravi so if she's ready to be with someone, I know who I'd vote for.

After Wally's murder, D-Day may be coming sooner rather than later. What are your thoughts on the zombie hate crime potential storyline?

Allison: I think Vivian had them killed, so there wasn't really a hate crime. I'm honestly not too sure how I feel about the storyline yet. I am curious to see more people start to believe (in the case of the radio host) or maybe even know for a fact that zombies are real. I want to see how people react.

Amanda: If humans were to discover the existence of zombies, I think Vivian's version of the future would probably come true. I don't know how many people it would take for there to be a mass panic, but it's always a possibility.

Jasmine: Even if Vivian is behind Wally and his family being killed, I definitely think there are already humans out there who are close to knowing the truth or know it already. Maybe not enough for it to pose a huge threat, but enough to do some damage. I think it will be interesting if handled right.

Yana: It is always possible that if humans find out that zombies live among them, they won't react too kindly. I'm not sure if it will be this huge panic because of how much zombie content the general population enjoys. It's almost not a foreign idea in this age and time, so there will be people who will want to find out more about zombies.

Who was the MVP of the iZombie Season 3 Episode 1?

Allison: Clive! He had a to process a lot of information. I mean he learned zombies were real (and his partner was one), was forced to derail his own case because of zombies, survived a zombie massacre, and that all happened like the day or two before the premiere. I'm really enjoying Clive being in the know.

Amanda: I say Clive as well. His world has been turned upside and he's handling everything surprisingly well so far.

Jasmine: It's unanimous. Clive. I'm thrilled that Clive finally knows the truth. He's an even better ally now that he has all the facts. Plus, he responds to things much like I would. It amuses me to no end.

Yana: I always love Clive so I choose him. He's still the same Clive we know and love but now he's part of the zombie squad and I couldn't be happier.

What was your favorite quote and/or scene?

Allison: Major finding out about Blaine and Peyton was pretty hilarious. I also loved that Clive was the one to spell it out for him.

Amanda: Don E accusing Blaine of lying about his amnesia. He had the best quote of the episode: "You deserve an Emmy. I mean, you’re TV-good. Let’s not get carried away. Daniel Day-Lewis ain’t shakin’ in his boots."

Jasmine: Clive comforting Liv. I love that Clive knowing the truth has brought him closer to Liv. He told her exactly what she needed to hear.

Yana: The reveal that Blaine killed Vivian's husband. That won't end well and I am here for it.
