Scorpion Season 3 Episode 23 Review: Something Burrowed, Something Blew

Everyone else cried through the Quintis wedding, right?

On Scorpion Season 3 Episode 23, Happy and Toby finally tied the knot, and it was a beautiful ceremony, even though it was in a parking lot and not a fancy venue. Let's face it; this was a better wedding.

Sure, a wedding full of Toby's family and friends would have been entertaining, but this small wedding was a lot more heartfelt. Between Happy asking to borrow Cabe and watching everyone dance at the reception, the Quintis wedding was perfect.

Happy and Toby's Wedding - Scorpion

I'm getting emotional just thinking about their wedding. Aside from Cabe walking Happy down the aisle (I'll never be over that moment), Toby and Happy's vows summed up their relationship beautifully.

Toby having his vows be four pages long, having a Han Solo and Princess Leia reference in there, and not seeing how Happy could feel about being overwhelmed by his vows was just so Toby. In what universe does Toby not wax poetically over Happy Quinn for wayyy too long?

Still, the fact that he was speechless (and hopefully listened to Paige) and Happy was the one said the vows that made you want to cry made the ceremony even more emotional. Happy never really opens up, so it was fitting that she poured her heart out to Toby in front of all their friends.

Toby: Happy, I just, um, I love you.
Happy: For once you're tongue tied, so I guess I'll go. I'm a mechanical genius, which means I understand in my mind and my heart how parts work together. That's why I love machines - a bolt and a wrench, a chain and gear. They just make sense to me. They fit. For a long time, I didn't feel like I fit anywhere, until I met you. And I knew then, just like I know how to assemble engines, that you and me, Toby, we fit. You're my home.

I'm so glad that Toby and Happy got to have their moment. Sure, there were a lot of problems, but there was also time dedicated to their wedding. It didn't feel rushed. It felt perfect.

Team Scorpion taking on a case on Toby and Happy's wedding day was beyond predictable, but honestly, if a case didn't pop up, something wouldn't have felt right. Thankfully, the case did not take up the entire hour. It was over relatively quickly, and the wedding and Waige drama had a chance to shine.

Before diving into Walter and Paige, can we talk a minute to praise Ralph?! I mean that kid was not messing around.

Ralph and Walter are extremely close. We've seen how much they mean to one another, and how much Ralph loves Walter. Ralph was a 100% wearing a Team Walter shirt while Paige was dating and even flirting with Tim.

So, the fact that Ralph completely shut down Walter and was not buddy-buddy with him after Paige was fired says everything

Walter: Is something wrong?
Ralph: Other than the fact you fired my mom?
Walter: I didn't fire her. Her skillset was needed anymore because she was so good at her job that everyone at Scorpion evolved.
Sly: Cabe! Happy is chasing me with raw meat!
Walter: More or less.
Ralph: You're forgetting one thing: I'm smarter than you, and I know why you fired my mom. Because you're a coward who can't face how he feels about her.
Walter: Ralph you're just a kid, you can't understand.
Ralph: I understand that today is about Happy and Toby, so we're done talking. And you're lucky I'm a kid. If I was bigger, I'd fight you. You hurt my mother.

Ralph is not nice to people who break his mom's heart. He made that point loud and clear, and I have never been more proud of him. It was fascinating to see Walter and Ralph's dynamic shift and how Walter reacted to Ralph being upset with him.

Ralph was part of the reason why Walter was forced to face his feeling about Paige. Okay, Ralph and the near death experience.

Yes, Walter, you claimed in a super sweet speech that you weren't facing imminent death when you declared your love for Paige, but don't deny that death wasn't a factor.

Don't get me wrong; I love that Walter called out that there wasn't something influencing him while he told Paige how he feels, but it would have been a lot more meaningful if he didn't almost die earlier that day.

Walter: I want to state for the record that I'm not suffering from hypoxia, I haven't ingested hallucinogenic seed dust, and I'm not facing imminent death. I'm just stating a verifiable fact. I fired you because I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you since shortly after we met, and I've spent years trying to process how that should be handled. Perhaps it's something that's not supposed to be handled, maybe it's something that just is. And I know you don't feel the same as I do, and that's okay, but I just wanted you to know.
Paige: Walter, I'm in love with you too.
Walter: I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that information.

Still, Waige is officially an item! Finally!

It would have been nice to see Walter's reaction to Paige leading him into a closet to make out (imagine the confusion followed by happy recognition), but honestly, the whole team stumbling in on them was hilarious.

Walter: He's trying to fit into his wedding tux.
Cabe: The wedding's tonight, just get a bigger size.
Walter: He refuses to. Happy saw Ryan Duckling wearing a tux like that in a movie poster.
Toby: It's Gosling, and she lingered. She likes the threads.
Cabe: You ever think she lingered on Gosling?
Toby: ....no.
