Considering how incredibly satisfying this season has been, was anyone else a little disappointed in the finale?

Were there satisfying deaths? Sure. Was their treachery and deceit? Of course. But Power Season 4 Episode 10 didn't give me that edge of the seat feeling that I've come to expect from this show. 

Instead, we had an hour that while fulfilling in some respects seemed rushed and almost a little forced. 

Things picked up right after Raina's murder, and we really weren't given much time to see anyone grieve because that's just not what this episode was about. From the minute he pulled into their parking lot after being at the police station all night, the only thing on Ghost's mind was finding Raina's killer.

I want justice for Raina, naturally, but I also wanted to see the raw emotions of a family dealing with the loss of a loved one. We never really got that, save for a brief scene of Ghost going through Raina's possessions and Tommy's confessional. 

Maybe they're saving that for next season. I really hope they are because it would be such a waste not to allow these characters to really experience the emotions that come with the life they've chosen to lead. Death means nothing to most of these people, but when it affects your flesh and blood, that's a different story. 

At first, Ghost and Tommy blamed the Jiminez, and I thought for sure this was going to turn into a full-scale war against the powerful cartel and set us up for season five. But I was wrong. 

While on the hunt to get justice for Raina, we got justice for Julio! Ghost killed Julio's killer after he cleared Jiminez in Raina's murder and confessed to killing Julio per Dre's request. 

THIS IS IT, Y'ALL! I have been waiting for Dre to be exposed all damn season, and it was very, very satisfying. I even found myself cheering for Tariq when he threatened the hell out of Dre and forced him to give up Ray Ray's location. 

Ray Ray is one dumb guy for not jumping on the first train out of New York the second he killed Raina. But I guess if that happens, then we don't get the epic scene of Tariq, Ghost, Tommy, and Tasha all descending upon Ray Ray's apartment at the same time. 

Of course, the whole "Ray Ray is the killer and he must be killed!" narrative was rushed and predictable, but I still found the whole scene enjoyable.

I never thought for a second that Tariq was going to be killed because that's clearly not what this show wants to do, so I knew Ray squared was going to die but I just didn't know how. 

Having Tariq pull the trigger, with Tasha's gun no less, will certainly make things interesting going forward. 

Speaking of Tasha, how about her going to Angela for help? I've always wanted these two to share screen time, and whenever they do, I'm never disappointed. 

In her new role, Angela seems like she is going to take things seriously and she warned both Ghost and Tasha that if Ghost is caught he will go down this time, and he will get the death penalty. Even with these warnings, the St. Patricks went after Ray Ray, and now he is dead.

Feelings or not (and let's be clear, there ARE still feelings between these two), Angela will be going after whoever killed Ray Ray. Whether or not she succeeds will be the real question. 

So with Raina's killer dead, where do things stand right now? Well, if you can believe it, the Power Gods have found a way to bring this whole story back full circle. That's right, the bands back together again! Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan are all aligned with the same common enemy: Dre. 

How this show has found a way to get me to root for Kanan, I will never know. But here I find myself cheering on this unlikely threesome as they battle the biggest snake in New York City. 

I hope his eventual defeat is everything I've dreamt it would be. 

Everything Else You Need To Know

• So Dre really is turning into a Ghost/Tommy hybrid, huh? After Father Callahan foolishly went to Dre about his killing of Julio thanks to Tommy's confession, Dre stabbed him in the heart. Cold blooded indeed. 

• It looks like Tasha is already ready to take the fall for Ray Ray's murder, and she's enlisted Terry as her lawyer. This may be the end of the road romantically for these two, and I'm a little sad about it. Tasha really does deserve some happiness. 

• Saxe is still hung up on getting Ghost and Maria is going to help him. You may be saying, Maria who? You'll need to go deep into the Power archives to dig up her backstory, as she first appears in the pilot.

• Tate is a snake, just as Simon Stern said he was. Trying to turn Raina's funeral into a publicity stunt was disgusting on so many levels.  

Well, another season has come and gone and we've got quite a few months before Power comes back. That's plenty of time to dissect everything that went on and make some predictions for what we'd like to see next season.
