You CAN go home again.

Just ask Shemar Moore, who has never been one to let his fans down.

Moore is making a return engagement to Criminal Minds before his starring role in SWAT makes him the most coveted male property on the CBS roster.

Derek Returns!! - Criminal Minds

Moore, an original Criminal Minds cast member, starred in 252 episodes of the drama as Derek Morgan before leaving the series at the end of Criminal Minds Season 11.

On Criminal Minds Season 13 Episode 5, airing October 25 at 10/9c, Morgan returns to the BAU to help Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) deal with a case that has affected her emotionally.

Moore is well known for his return engagements to past roles, even returning in recent years to The Young and the Restless where he played Malcolm Winters for ten years.

When Moore is invited back to a previous role so his character can help a loved one get through something traumatic, he's always there.

Derek and Baby Girl Reunite - Criminal Minds

It may not always be that easy going forward, however, as Moore is about to take the world by storm with his new role on SWAT.

Moore is taking on the role of Daniel "Hondo" HarrelsonĀ on the reboot of the series from the 1970s, and leading a team both morally and on the streets will surely keep him busy!

Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez and Daniel Henney.

Will Derek have more than a walk-on presence on the upcoming episode of Criminal Minds in which he'll be comforting Garcia?

No matter how many characters are on the show, it's always lovely to see a familiar face return, never forgetting their friends and from where they came, isn't it?
