Young & Hungry Canceled After Five Seasons!

Freeform will not be ordering an additional season of Young & Hungry.

The cable network announced Thursday that the current fifth season will be the end of the line for Gabi, Josh and their circle of friends as a regular series.

But there's a twist.

A two-hour movie reuniting the cast and crew is already in the works well in advance of the series' swan song.

The final episodes of the series will bow on Freeform Wednesday, June 20 at 8/7c.

The official logline for Young & Hungry Season 5B reads:“Gabi and Josh [are] finally together and in love, but now navigating their new status as a full-fledged couple."

"Meanwhile, the rest of Josh’s staff, Yolanda and Elliot, are grappling with the change in work dynamic with Gabi as the “woman of the house.” Sofia, Gabi’s best friend, who begins to feel like a third wheel with the new couple, sets out on her own path to find love.”

The writing has been on the wall ever since there was radio silence from Freeform about when, exactly, the series would return to the schedule.

Series star, Emily Osment took to Twitter last month, and her comments made it sound like the series was over.

"Hey everybody, neither me nor anyone else in the cast knows when Young and Hungry is coming back," Osment shared.

"Our final ten episodes will air this year sometime, but it is still uncertain when that is. I see all your replies, yes I am annoyed too! We love you, please be patient!"

The fate of Young & Hungry was seemingly confirmed earlier this week when Osment was cast in a new CBS comedy pilot, titled 25.
