Last Man Standing Revival Adds Krista Marie Yu

Last Man Standing is coming returning on Fox after being canceled by ABC, and there will be some new cast members to help switch things up.

According to TV Line, Krista Marie Yu has landed a recurring role on the comedy series as a foreign exchange student named Jen.

Vanessa asks Mike to allow her to stay with the family while she completes her studies in the United States of America.

Vanessa has a connection with Jen, and it said to be down to the fact they both have a keen interest in the world of geology.

There are a lot of changes on the casting front for this rejigged version of the series. Molly McCook and Jet Jurgensmeyer recently joined the cast to replace Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison, respectively.

It makes sense that a show that has been off the airs for over a year would lose some of its cast members.

Ephraim decided against returning to the series, and Morrison was replaced because the producers opted to go in a different direction with the character to tell more teenage storylines.

Tim Allen, Nancy Travis (Vanessa), Amanda Fuller (Kristin), Jonathan Adams (Chuck), Christoph Sanders (Kyle), Jordan Masterson (Ryan) and Hector Elizondo (Ed) have all closed deals to appear in the revival.

ABC canceled Last Man Standing in May 2017 despite it still being one of the network's more solid performers.

There was word that the series could wind up at CMT, but those conversations fizzled out before Fox swopped in to save the day a year later.

“Last Man Standing ended too soon, and the outcry from the fans has been deafening,” Fox TV chairmen and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden said in a statement in May.

“We’ve wanted to put the show back together since its final taping a year ago, and Tim never gave up hope, either."

"Thanks to its millions of devoted viewers and the irrepressible Tim Allen, we haven’t seen the last of Last Man Standing.”

Last Man Standing returns Friday, September 28th.
