Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5 Review: Love Eventually

at .  Updated at .

Things seemed to revolve around timing and tension from beginning to end on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5.

Sarah was saved from a roof caving in on her in the nick of time. Abby missed Trace's call by seconds. Jess spent all her time waiting for David. Bree was being rushed through the editing process of her book.

There was tension between Kevin and Sarah after her accident at work. There was tension of a different kind between Bree and Simon as well as Mick and Megan. There was also some serious tension between Trace and both Abby and Leigh.

Trace Riley Band - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5

Kevin worrying about Sarah was pure torture, but it was worth it to see the look of utter relief when he saw her alive and well. At least mostly well, save for a few bumps and bruises.

Sarah was acting as if everything was normal even though it was clear she wasn't dealing with her close call well. That part was understandable. Not opening up to Kevin and talking to him about it was not so understandable.

Sarah and Kevin - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5

If anyone would get how someone feels after a close call, it's Kevin. The fact that the two are a couple and have been for a while now makes it seem even more sensible that Sarah would talk to Kevin about what she was feeling.

But seeing Kevin call her out on it proved once again what an amazing guy he is. Sarah owning up to it proved once again how strong she is and what a perfect match these two are. Then they added the cherry on top by professing their love to each other!

Abby's frustration over pictures of the girls all over the internet is understandable. Her acting as if it was Trace's fault, not so much. He would do anything for Abby and the girls and has proven it many times. He can't control the media. Abby's phone call with Trace was unpleasant and didn't seem like a fair conversation.

Abby O'Brien - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5

It's a hard topic for sure. It doesn't seem to be a situation that anyone will win. Pictures being taken of those involved with Trace is just par for the course with him being in the public eye. But Abby not wanting pictures of her daughters online is also a great point and the same stance I would take.

Abby: Trace I found another picture of us online from when we were saying goodbye in Dallas.
Trace: Abby, I just think that maybe we need to start being more careful.
Abby: I am. That's what worries me. I am getting paranoid whenever I'm out with the girls and I know I have no reason to be but I can't help it.
Trace: I don't know what to say. If I could stop these people you know I would.

Trace's visit to Abby so he could sing his new song was breathtaking. What makes them such a beautiful couple is all the things they do for the other and the way they visibly relax when the other is around. It's a rare find and the fact Abby and Trace are willing to fight for it is one of the main reasons I watch.

Trace Riley - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5

Jess is doing a lot better with her heartbreak over David than I would have given her credit, though she does bring him up every five minutes. But that's better than bawling her eyes out or going on a raging rampage.

Then Jess impressed everyone by attempting to try and start thinking about new beginnings, which was naturally the perfect time for David to make his reappearance. That hopefully means his family won't be a problem anymore.

David: Jess O'Brien I think you forgot something.
Jess: David!
David: I don't know if you're still in the market for a cook, handyman, or anything else you might need, but I'd like to submit my application for employment.
Jess: Do you have any references?
David: Just one. And I missed her more than anything.

Bree in full panic mode was nothing short of entertaining. Then Simon made a surprise visit, and she went from full panic to completely flustered. It was a highlight of the episode. There is some serious sexual tension radiating between them, and it would be interesting to see things get taken to the next level.

Bree O'Brien - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5

Simon was supposedly in town to help Bree edit her book, but it seemed to cause nothing but tension between the two of them. Bree having trouble putting her thoughts into words with Simon shows how flustered the man makes her.

Seeing the girls out to lunch together was a breath of fresh air. When was the last time they got together without the rest of the family barging in the room? I certainly can't remember! Then there was Jess out with Connor. These two need more bonding scenes as they seem to be in the same boat when it comes to most of their issues.

Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5

Seeing Trace sing and play the guitar was a gift as always and his song was evoking some strong emotions. The man has a natural gift for writing. There is no doubt that Abby is the inspiration and muse for him.

Leigh didn't seem happy about that. She said she was bent out of shape because she was used to Trace only writing songs with the band, and he had done this one on his own. I think the reason had more to do with Leigh knowing it was about Abby.

Trace: Leigh, what's up? You okay?
Leigh: Yeah I'm fine. It's just, we always write for the band together.
Trace: Like I said, I couldn't sleep. At least let me know what you think. Honestly.
Leigh: Honestly? I think it's one of the best things you've ever written.

Mick and Megan teamed up to pick up after the wedding, and there were some serious romantic vibes being sent out by both of them. Agreeing to get pizza together was a date whether they admit it or not. Reminiscing on the good times was just one more step in the right direction of them getting back together.

But Mick seems to be on the redemption path with everyone in the family. He is doing his best to get back into Connor's good graces. His intentions do seem genuine, but Connor isn't having any of it at first. I think he is a bit unfair about the entire situation.

He does, though, have a good point about him and his father constantly fighting and making up. But that's the meaning of family, right? It's a give and take, and Connor realizing that and stepping up was as incredible as Mick apologizing to him.
