Erin Reagan was having some serious issues on Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 3 as she tried to adjust to her new role in the District Attorney's office.

Exactly how stressful is the position of Bureau Chief because Erin was a complete bear to deal with?

Perhaps it all would have made a little more sense if we had seen some of the pressure put on Erin but a, it was, her overreactions and severe attitude felt like they came out of nowhere.

She was in much better humor when her job was on the line as she decided to take on her boss' boss on Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 2.

That she didn't want to prosecute a case with weak evidence wasn't necessarily off base, and I can understand her being a little miffed at Anthony for telling her she would have gone after the case harder before her promotion.

But storming into Anthony's office and hanging up on his phone call was indefensible. No amount of stress gives Erin the right to be that rude to a colleague.

Erin blamed Anthony for losing her the respect of her subordinates, but the only respect she lost was due to her poor behavior, and Anthony handled her tirade as well as could be expected.

Heck, he even showed up with drinks for the two of them to smooth things over.

I was relieved to hear Erin finally apologize and admit that she was in the wrong. She and Anthony's relationship has been one of the highlights of the show, and I'd hate for anything to ruin it.

Elsewhere, Frank had his own personnel issues when Garrett found out he'd been excluded from something important but didn't know exactly what it was.

Sid: Can I ask where we are?
Frank: Bravo Bunker.
Abigail: Yeah, we got the name. What is this place?
Frank: This is where we go when everywhere else is a no go.

That such a bunker exists in the wake of 9/11 is hardly a surprise. What is, is that the main members of Frank's inner circle knew nothing about it until now.

Frank could have done a better job of explaining to Garrett that there was a drill they couldn't tell him about due to security concerns but he'd find out about it when the time was right.

I think the silence upset Garrett more than anything because nothing feels worse than believing your friends and colleagues are shutting you out.

But at the same time, I thought Garrett reacted unprofessionally. I can't imagine that he gets to know absolutely everything that happens within the NYPD, as there are some things a Communications Director simply wouldn't be a part of. So why act so childishly with this, especially since he didn't even know what this was?

I found Danny and Baez's case more enjoyable than I expected, mostly because it involved gaslighting, a term I first heard of as the title of the 1944 movie starring Ingrid Bergman of whom I'm a fan.

I find Danny flexing his detective superpowers to be an overplayed trope, which is probably why I liked Baez's Blue Bloods quote:

In Danny's defense, I also thought there was something off about the husband, but I couldn't put my finger on what was going on until Clara said Camille was their couple's therapist.

Poor Clara does seem to need a therapist, but someone who will actually help her and not try to drive her over the edge or send her to jail.

The most satisfying moment was when Richard turned over the nanny cam footage to take down Camille, never realizing that in doing so he was handing the police the evidence to convict him too.

Finally, we get to Jamie and Eddie.

My one complaint is that the show keeps bringing up issues for this couple and then almost immediately finding solutions.

First, it was with them wanting to remain, partners, an issue which seemed huge at the end of the Blue Bloods season 8 finale, but was resolved by the end of Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 1.

Then just last week, Eddie explained why she felt it was important for her to remain at the 12th precinct only for her to completely reverse herself now.

At least this turnabout made a little more sense as it was driven by Eddie's desire to be there for Jamie in his new position and it was wonderful to hear their vows once again.

Jamie: Our vows.
Eddie: Yeah, I don’t want them to just mean something on our wedding day. I want them to mean something today and tomorrow and every day after that.
Jamie: I will always have your back. If you fall behind I will wait up.
Eddie: I will earn your respect and pay you respect every day we have.
Jamie: I’ll be your scout, your night watchman, your cavalry.
Eddie: Your medic, your chaplain in our army of two.
Jamie: No retreat, no surrender. You can count on me.
Eddie: You can count on me.

I question how successful this move will be in helping Jamie earn respect as the new Sergeant. Won't everyone know Eddie is Jamie's fiancee? I think their personal dynamic will only make Jamie's issues at work worse, not better.

And can Jamie be Eddie's direct supervisor given their engagement? That just doesn't make sense to me, and I'm waiting for it to be explained.

The one thing that worried me was how little Jamie had shared with Eddie about the challenges at the new precinct. I agreed with him that some of it was as simple as some people will always hate their boss, but the 29th seems to have real problems. Why not share more of that with Eddie?

Then we get to the Sunday family dinner. Eddie's joke fell a little flat for me, perhaps because it seemed so obvious. Eddie isn't the type to run out of the room close to tears over some light-hearted ribbing, so I was awaiting her return even as she left the room.

Even with that, it was still another entertaining hour with the Reagan family.
