So was this the beginning of the actuality of #Miggins?
We've been teased about the possibility all season, but the focus of Magnum P.I. Season 1 Episode 19 seemed to make a strong case (once again) that the couple will end up together.
We even got a peek into what it would look like when they finally lock lips although that's probably a perverted way to think when all Magnum was doing was trying to save her life.
Still, it was an odd hour full of flashbacks revolving around their relationship as they waited to be rescued from their dire situation.
What it accomplished was that it showed how their relationship had developed and how the connection they have started the moment they met.
It seemed like he was just playing the stupid fool card when he stepped foot on Masters' estate, but Magnum is smarter than he lets on.
His perceived simpleness intrigued Higgins.
She knew there was more to him than he was letting her see.
Besides, she knew Masters wouldn't have hired an idiot to be his security consultant.
Their playful interactions and teasing were instant.
Higgins had met her match and so did Magnum.
This might be a long shot, but it could very well be that Robin Masters brought them together on purpose.
The magic is real.
It doesn't matter if Higgins doesn't know who Tom Brady is or that Magnum doesn't know some of the things Higgins does, the point is that they can learn from each other.
Imagine how boring it would be if they had the same exact interests?
There would be no room for growth and development.
Their relationship would be dead in the water in no time.
No mystery? No intrigue?
"Blood in the Water" also showed how well Magnum and Higgins work together ... like two cogs in a wheel.
Their teamwork has saved many lives and relationships since they met, and their teamwork saved their own lives when all hope seemed lost.
Although, it's clear Higgins is the smarter one of the two.
Why wouldn't Magnum have thought to start a fire?
But that's another key to why their relationship works so well.
They fill in the gaps for each other.
While there wasn't a traditional "case" to solve this hour, the rest of the team was still involved in the disappearance of Higgins and Magnum.
It was unfortunate that T.C.'s helicopter was out of service.
Had it not been, Magnum and Higgins would have been found in no time.
As it were, T.C. and Rick had to do some legwork to figure out what happened to their friends.
It was disappointing that Katsumoto wasn't more helpful.
He should have done more to help the situation, but maybe he was having a bad day or just decided that it was time to stick to the rules once again.
You'd think he would have dropped everything and done everything to find out where Higgins and Magnum were especially after what Magnum had done for him on Magnum Season 1 Episode 18.
It made no sense.
What was a lot of fun, though, was watching Rick interact with the club owner when they were trying to talk to Double K.
Whether they're shady or not, Rick knows everyone.
It amazes me how he was able to make so many connections in such a short time.
I'd love to see the story of how it all happened.
We also learned more about T.C. That guy had a rough childhood.
He shared with Shammy that his dad was convicted of armed robbery and was coming to visit.
Dad never made it which disappointed T.C., but even he knows that his true family is right there with him on the island.
He remains a goodhearted guy and loyal friend despite all his previous life woes, and it's something to admire.
If I had to depend on one person from Magnum P.I., it would be T.C.
He never disappoints.
And he didn't disappoint Magnum and Higgins when he and Rick found the stranded soon-to-be-lovers and brought them to safety.
All is happy in Magnum's world again -- at least until his ex-girlfriend shows up again on Magnum P.I. Season 1 Episode 20.
