Lucas: [clears his throat] They want me to run. They say that Rosemary’s article has been picked up by dozens of local newspapers and radio hosts are reading it out loud on the air.
Elizabeth: What do you think?
Lucas: I think there has to be someone else.
Elizabeth: Is there?
Lucas: He said with the election three weeks away that no one wants to run knowing they will lose if they don’t have enough time to campaign.
Elizabeth: They’re right. Everyone knows your name. It’s as though your campaign has already started.
Lucas: So, if I were to run, you would be OK with it?
Elizabeth: If it’s what you want, then yes.

Rosemary: Are you sure about this?
Elizabeth: It’s the future of Hope Valley.

Lucas: And I think, well, when you said you were OK with me running, I thought that would mean you were OK with me winning. And if I do win, that means moving to Capitol City for four years. I assumed you and Little Jack would come with me. I can’t imagine being apart for that long. Could you?
Elizabeth: Of course not. I just hadn’t thought that all the way through, and when I try to think about it… I guess I try not to think about it.
Lucas: Well, I haven’t won yet.
Elizabeth: We have to make sure you do.

Nathan: I know you have a lot going on right now, but I wanted to talk to you about moving to Capitol City.
Elizabeth: Nathan.
Nathan: Because just yesterday, you told me how you never wanted to leave Hope Valley.
Elizabeth: And I don’t.
Nathan: So then why are you going?
Elizabeth: Well, he hasn’t won yet.
Nathan: But what if he does.
Elizabeth: Then the valley is saved, and that’s all that matters right now.
Nathan: That’s not all that matters.
Elizabeth: He’s our only chance, and if Lucas wins, then he and I will figure it out.
Nathan: And then what? What about teaching? What about these kids? Is this what you want?
Elizabeth: Nathan, this is bigger than me.
Nathan: Elizabeth, you make a difference here. I’m asking you to be honest with yourself. Is this what you want?
Elizabeth: What other choice do I have?
Nathan: Elizabeth, what do you want?
Elizabeth: What I want is for him to win, so I’m leaving with him tomorrow night, and we’re going to campaign and go to the convention, and if he wins, then I guess, I guess we’re moving to Capitol City.
Nathan: Then I hope, I hope it makes you happy. Be safe.

Elizabeth: I wish I could give you all of my heart, but I just can’t, and you deserve to be with someone who can.
Lucas: We both do. [kisses her forehead] I wish you all the happiness in the world, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Maybe this is a bad omen.
Rosemary: No! No, of course, it isn’t. This is just a mistake. Elizabeth?
Elizabeth: There’s just so much going on. The town and the water and the wedding in the middle of it all? It’s normal to get the jitters, isn’t it?
Rosemary: Sure it is. Are you having doubts?
Elizabeth: No! Just about the dress.

Losing Jack was the hardest thing I ever went through, and the thought of losing someone else in the line of duty, one who means so much to me, has rekindled old fears I put away. It feels like we have a shadow over us for so many reasons; things that seemed important pale in comparison to what is now at stake.

Rosemary: So, be honest with me. How much trouble are we in?
Lucas: Two courses?
Rosemary: Two it is! And what about the black tie gala?
Lucas: Can I have 48 hours?
Rosemary: Alright.
Lucas: Great.
Rosemary: He will just have to extend his stay, and if he can’t so be it.
Elizabeth: Rosemary!
Rosemary: I always say, don’t let perfect be the enemy of good enough. Perhaps I should say it more often.

Lucas: What else aren’t you telling me?
Elizabeth: Why would you ask that?
Lucas: Because you have about five different tells.

Nathan: I gotta feed Newton, though, so aaah.
Elizabeth: That’s the best you could come up with?

Lucas: I’ve been meaning to talk with you about yesterday regarding Mr. Montague.
Elizabeth: There’s something about him that just seems off.
Lucas: Perhaps, but didn’t you feel the same way about me when I first arrived in town?

Lucas: I was wondering how you feel about castle living.
Elizabeth: Aw. I think anyone would be lucky to live in a purple castle.
Lucas: Then perhaps I will gift you one as a wedding present.
Elizabeth: That sounds like you. [pause] What are you up to?
Lucas: I want to give you the world. I would get you the moon right now if I could.
Elizabeth: I’m not sure I’d keep it.
Lucas: Then, maybe I’ll start a little smaller. A house on a hill with the most beautiful view. A castle of ryou and Jack.
Elizabeth: Lucas, uh-
Lucas: You don’t need to give me an answer right now. It’s something to think about.
Elizabeth: Of course. One question. Would it have a moat?
Lucas: Of course, it would have a moat. Absolutely. With a drawbridge and everything.

When Calls the Heart Quotes

I have one of these at the office; I do not need one in my house.

Bill: From now on, you just mind your own business. Leave the law and order to me.
Nathan: Yeah, I can't do that.
Bill: Why's that?
Nathan: Because I'm your new Mountie, Nathan Grant.
