Janet: You don't follow directions very well, do you?
Joanie: I'm not wanted many places. I make a lot of people uncomfortable. If I let that stop me, I wouldn't be anywhere.
Janet: At my first job, I was the only female associate. Tomorrow, you're first chair. Actual first chair.
Janet: Joanie's deficits are more severe than you think. She cannot do this job.
Shaun: Everyone said that about me.
You are a good researcher. But you need to accept that you will never be a good lawyer.

Joanie: Why do you believe in me more than in the test? I'm a lawyer with OCD. I work out of a closet. I was late to the only meeting you've had. So why do you have so much confidence in me?
Shaun: The test doesn't care. You do.
If the test goes the way you want, you'll definitely win. If it goes the other way, you'll definitely lose. So the question is whether you believe in this test more than you believe in me?
