In an episode that re-imagines the Jeffersonian and FBI teams in 1950's Hollywood, Brennan plays an LAPD detective, and Booth is a notorious jewel thief who is far more than he seems to be.
Brennan follows Booth, a notorious jewel-thief in this alternate reality, as he tries to steal jewels from a rich woman named Eva Bragga.
Cam appears as a maid in the same house, who finds the dead body of Ms. Bragga. Booth leaves without any jewels, and is now believed to be the murderer.
Brennan returns to the LAPD, where she works for her father as a police detective. Her father insists that she can no longer be a detective, while Brennan insists Booth isn't the killer.
Brennan teams up with Booth to try and clear his name. They visit Hodgins, who is a paleontologist, to ask for his help in examining the bones.
Booth and Brennan argue about faith vs. science and who should drive. Hodgins works with Edison on the remains, realizing he can use beetles to help examine the bones.
Booth and Brennan visit Sarge, who we are used to seeing as Angela's father. Booth gives him money, and Sarge insists that Booth and Brennan are made for each other.
Booth is staying at Brennan's house to be safe, and hides when Angela arrives to visit. Angela encourages Brennan to date Booth. She also brings information about a criminal who may be able to help them, James Aubrey.
Booth and Brennan visit Aubrey at a club, where they see Daisy, Caroline, and a few other beloved characters and squinterns.
Brennan realizes that the killer is Cam, the maid. She and Booth confront her just as she is making a run for it. Cam locks them in the closet, and they almost kiss before Cam interrupts them to kidnap Brennan.
Booth goes after them, and rescues Brennan before Cam is able to drop her in the ocean from a plane.
Booth and Brennan visit Sarge again, then step off to the side to share a second first kiss.
