Carina and DeLuca pursue Opal, the woman suspected of sex trafficking who was last seen on Grey's Anatomy Season 17 Episode 6, and alert Maya and the rest of Station 19 about what's going on.
They follow her in their car and then onto a train.
Carina and DeLuca later split up so Carina can coordinate with the police while DeLuca continues to follow Opal.
The police then arrest Opal at the train station, but not before someone stabs DeLuca. His fate is left up in the air.
While Maya deals with this drama, she leaves Andy in charge with the yearly inspection, not caring if it damages her captaincy.
The charges against Dean and Sullivan are dropped, and everyone has different responses to what happened.
Dean is angry that Maya is willing to break the rules for Carina but wouldn't do the same for him. He also decides to take legal recourse against the racist cops.
Andy has to deal with the fact that she's now married to a Black man, and what happened made her see the police in a different light.
At the end of the episode, Andy and Sullivan agree to move back in together.
Vic is distraught over what happens and isn't sure how to bounce back. Travis tells her she doesn't have to.
