We have forking good news from the land of NBC!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Good Place has been renewed for a third season that will span 13 episodes.
That's no chance from the preceding two seasons which have each had shorter runs on the network.
The news of the renewal comes as no surprise when you consider the fact that the ratings are still solid. The Good Place Season 2 is averaging 4.3 million viewers and a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49.
That is off just 10 percent vs. The Good Place Season 1, and the show narrows those losses when delayed viewing is factored in. In fact, it swells all the way up to a 2.6 rating in the adult demo.
The Good Place stars Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto and D’Arcy Carden. It focuses on the inhabitants of a place that the people who do all the right things in life go to after death.
The show has remained comical in Season 2. Many thought the show would struggle to keep the plot going after the freshman season came to a shocking conclusion that culminated in a reset of sorts.
The first half of Season 2 recently wrapped and NBC has already confirmed the series will return January 4, 2018, for another batch of forking funny installments.
