TV Ratings: American Music Awards Hold Steady

The American Music Awards sizzled on ABC Sunday night.

With showstopping performances, as well as exciting moments, the finished product was pretty watchable.

But how did it fare in the ratings?

A Comeback
(The AMAs)

The telecast managed 6.7 million viewers and a 1.8 rating.

This was up ever so slightly in total viewers, while steady year-to-year in the demo.

Granted, last year's telecast aired on a Tuesday.

Still, Sunday's show performed well against stiff competition from Sunday Night Football, which had 17 million viewers and a 4.8 rating.

Over on CBS, God Friended Me (5.9 million/0.6 rating) and NCIS: Los Angeles (6.3 million/0.6 rating) were both down to match lows.

Madam Secretary (4.3 million/0.4 rating) held steady.

Over on FOX, The Simpsons (5.5 million/0.8 rating), Bless The Harts (2.7 million/1.0 rating), Bob's Burgers (2.3 million/0.9 rating), and Family Guy (2.3 million/0.9 rating) all benefited from NFL overrun.
