This week's episode of The Simpsons was the season 21 finale of the show, so the producers clearly tried to go out with a bang with the American Idol episode that was "Judge Me Tender."  However, does having Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest guest voicing make an episode?

Well the show decided to give its A story to Moe as he was chosen to be the show's fifth judge.  ("This show has more judges than the Supreme Court!")  Definitely an interesting choice for a show to give its primary story line to a supporting character as its finale.

Luckily Moe's negative attitude make him a perfect fit for the storyline and he provided plenty of laughs along the way.  It worked.  Just nothing special and especially not for the last episode of what has been a suprisingly good strong season.

The second story was Homer spending all his time at home with Moe closing the bar in his absence.  We've already seen Homer try to find other bars in previous episodes, so all of this felt a little rehashed and too long of a storyline for a simple out-dated Tiger Woods joke.  Though, we'll admit we still laughed.

The show certainly did its job of making us laugh, but we really had high hopes for the the finale to a great season.  Our favorite Simpsons quotes from the finale after the jump.
