This is my first time posting and I love this show. Turned my parents on after season 3 and since then they haven't missed an episode and purchased the first 3 seasons on DVD. WE JUST DONT GET IT. Getting rid of J.J. and Emily is like the Yankees getting rid of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez after there World Series winning season and replacing them with a 1st year rookie right out of the minor leagues. This Rachel Nichols must have felt awkward filming this next episode with not only J.J returning but Emily leaving. She's like the new girlfriend sleeping in the ex wife's bed and taking car of her kids. LOL I need em back even if for one episode it would only be complete if Gideon came back.

I was replying to michael's comment - sorry for the confusion. But I won't "pipe down already". I and everyone else who doesn't like Seaver is allowed to express their opinions. You and everyone else who finds it tiresome are always welcome to ignore us. But most of us aren't nitpicking: a cadet joining the team is at odds with the foundation of the show; one tiny (highly debatable that it was even there) spark of chemistry with one other character after so many episodes is hardly a vote of confidence, especially when the other character spends most of every episode away from the others; and though she might have been a little smarter, this is still the character who seriously asked, after five episodes, if an autistic child could have murdered his parents and hidden the bodies. She's not ready to be a member of the team and she won't be without considerable experience (as in years worth). Nitpicking is not liking the way she crosses her arms or something (no opinion on that here

I didnt realize that maybe they brought JJ back to possibly "approve" of Seaver. But i dont think that's what will happen. I think JJ will tie into Emily a lot more than the obvios ways.
Did anyone see that twitter pic of AJ and Rachel Nichols with the stupid makeup artist in betwee. Some incosiderate fan asked for a pic of the two of them togehter. It must have been so awkward for AJ! I feel so bad for her! Rache is following evryone on twitter but AJ and PAget are the only ones who are not following back and with good reason. I'm sure they were plenty nice to her but I wouldnt want to be friends with my replacement either.
Seaver will never fit in. There are too many errors on writing her to ignore.
paget was amazing in this episode and I cant wait for Lauren to air becuase of JJ coming back as well.
This is an idea coming around, but go to cbs and fill out their feedback form and let them know as directly as possible that we want JJ and Emily back permanetly for next season7 a

i found this on a forum:
New poster here. Oh man oh man. I am defintely siding with the people that support Ashley Seaver now. Just watched the episode, and she was totally fine, she asked question any team member also ask.Wasn't dumb at all this time. I even spottet a little chemistry with Garcia there.
Yeah the hang up scene was a little fun. But not enough to dislike the character.
I am fully confident now, that the people that hate the seaver character, are really nitpicking now.
This episode really proved that. she is very fine and is beginning to click with the team.
That is my two cents on this matter. Oh and the episode was very good. The Prentiss arc is a little out there, but the episode was thrilling from start to finish.
And i couldn't agree more. damn this is getting tiresome. Just pipe down already

Mike, why is it "greedy" to expect a character - a character brought on to replace not one but two beloved characters - to show some promise after SIX episodes? Six episodes in, I can't see any way Seaver improves the show; she can't fill the JJ void and there's no way she'll be able to fill the Emily void either. Six episodes in, I'm not even at a place where I can tolerate her presence - it's like fingernails on a chalkboard every time she talks or the camera goes to her for no particular reason. It's clear from the way she's portrayed (She's an inexperienced cadet - who happens to be leading parts of the very important investigation in this week's episode! And we're supposed to buy that...) that the show runners don't know how to integrate her with the rest of the team for the long haul. Seaver is just a badly written character and she needs to go.

When will the TV network start listening to the fans!!!! I was gutted when AJ Cook was axed and to learn that Paget may now get the chop permanently is madness!!! The chemistry of the characters has to work and it hasn't been the same since AJ left!!!! I tell you what character they should rid themselves off is that Erin Strauss!!!! This was a wonderful episode with great character moments between Emily and Garcia, Reid, Rossi, and Morgan, showing that this is a drama about a family as well as a crime procedural. Too bad the presence of Seaver drags down the quality of the show. Between her lack of chemistry with any of the other characters and her obvious inexperience ("doe-eyed" is a good description, not just of her looks but of her essence) I can't imagine anyone on the team trusting her to have their backs. If all they were doing was easing her character in, that should be done by now. No, Seaver is clearly dead weight - as joanna said, she's taking up screentime (how often was she in a scene when it would have made more sense to have Reid there?) and lines (many of her lines in this episode would have sounded infinitely more credible coming from Hotch) - and I'm dreading when Emily is gone because we'll be subjected to even more of it. Really, how long are we expected to "give her a chance"? She's been

Whoever thinks that Seaver will turn out to be a great character needs to read more or just plean how to think becuase she wouldve showed shades of her "greatness" by now. Its tv, so 6 episodes is more than enough time to show us what she will offer at least in hints. But Seaver is a terrible waste of a character and Rachel Nichols cant act for her life! I bet Bernero had a crush on her and hired her to get some more guys to watch the show. SHe's pretty but not as pretty as AJ pr paget and certainly nowhere near as talented. I detest Seaver.

I really thought that this was a great time to bring Prentiss' character out and certainly make her a stronger part of the team but it looks like the producers are all stuck together by one giant gumball for a brain. I think the new blonde chicky that took JJ's role is about as easy to look at as a deer in the headlights. Her eyes are huge, she looks stoned and pale. I have lost interest in Criminal Minds this year. No banter, no humor among the team, Garcia seems to be the one leading the show. Hotch has very few lines, Rossi shows up, Morgan has the muscles but seems that Garcia is the only one profiling.

I thought I was going to like Seaver in Today I do becuase it was the last chance i was going to give her. It was all going ok until she explained why a girl would cut herself. She was so wrong. Cutting is about gaining self control in a self destructive way. you hope that the pain bleeds out or that the phyical pain will block the emotional pain but cutting is the only thing you feel you can control . Seaver said it was about not having any control. Wrong.
Then in Coda, she snaps at Reid and asks if the autistic kid is the unsub. WTF? She is bringing it on herself.
Also, RN cant really act. She's just pretty.

I think it is incredibly arrogant of the producers of Criminal Minds to utterly disregard what the fans want. They are behaving like a bullyish employer who refuses to admit that he was wrong.
At the end of the day the fans will determine the fate of the show, and if they continue to be unhappy with decisions made regarding their favorite characters, then the show is doomed.
Having said that, I am still willing to give Rachel Nichols a chance. They are obviously easing her into the cast, and I believe character development will happen quite quickly if in fact "Emily" is leaving. Weird though that they would cast someone whose looks are so similar to A.J. Maybe they should give her the red hair she had in G.I. Joe Rise of the Cobra.
Tell all your friends to watch next weeks episode, and perhaps if it garners their highest ratings ever, the producers will have no choice but to realize they were wrong.

This was a great episode ecept for Seaver.
Emily is such a cool person and Paget is such a great actress, trying to keep from crying, trying keep her world from falling apart and its not working.
Especially loved those moments with her and Reid's secret keeping.
Can't wait for next week's episode andJJ's return. Hopefully tptb can see that they need to rehire AJ and paget full time and get rid of Rachel Nichols.
RN's character was tolerable in this episode bu has anyone noticed how unprofessional Seaver is? She is always leaning or sitting or bending when she should be standing like the rest of the team. ALso, instead of constantly asking questions, she can actually try to connect some dots or formulate some helpful theories instead of just hanging around and looking pretty, or like a deer caught in headlights. RN is average Barbie pretty, nothing on how gorgeous AJ and Paget are.
Persoanlly I cant stand RN's stiff, flat acting. Plus when she's not being boring, she's being too

Hi CMinds1001
I mentioned in my first review of CM: Suspect Behavior that the original Criminal Minds tends to slip through the cracks. I like the show well enough, it just seems to run up against something else most of the time, and sadly it tends to be left on my DVR until something else writes over it (sad face).
As for why this is my first episode back; the answer has two parts.
First, now that CM: Suspect Behavior is starting to take shape I wanted to compare it to the original with fresh eyes to see if any of the things I have found fault with that show are present here. I am happy to say they are not.
Second, Steve (the normal reviewer for the show) was fighting off a rogue band of ninja-girl-scouts (I think), and asked me to be a substitute reviewer for the night. Knowing I wanted to watch the show for the first thing I gladly accepted.
Hopefully I did him justice, also I am glad to report that last I heard he was ninja-girl-scout free and should be back next

Well... welcome back, and I hope you get caught up quickly. Out of curiosity, Jim, why have you not watched since JJ's departure and why come back now? In case you're wondering this Doyle thing has been brewing since "The Thirteenth Step", and not just the last two episodes.
While I may not have understood at the time why they cut the opening gambit together the way they did, it did make sense later since the ones being intercut all had ties to Ian Doyle.
Oh, and as for what I think will happen to Emily Prentiss, well, first they have to find her...alive. She walked away in the end and as was shown in the promo, Doyle eventually captures her.
This is not the first time Morgan has tried to reach out to Prentiss, he recognized the changes earlier, but Prentiss shut him down. I think that was two or three episodes ago.
