Chicago Fire Round Table: Saying Goodbye

at .

Does anyone else still have that violent ice rink scene stuck in their minds?

Chicago Fire Season 3 Episode 16 wasn't short of gruesome scenes. It was also packed full of drama for our key players. We found out Mouch has son, while Pat went one step too far.

Below, TV Fanatics Stacy Glanzman, Mary Kate Venedam and Paul Dailly discuss Pat and Welch's departures, Dawson moving on and their reaction to Mouch having a son.

On a scale of 1-10, how happy are you about Boden's return to Firehouse 51?

Stacy: 10! I am so glad they didn't drag that story line w/ the interim chief out any longer. He was awful.

Mary Kate: Definitely a 10. I was not a fan of the replacement chief. He was way too power hungry and loved that he could take advantage and manipulate everything he did while at 51, especially throwing Casey under the bus for his mistake and personal vendetta.

Paul: 10! I don't think anyone liked Pat. He was just there to torment our friends at Firehouse 51. Goodbye and good riddance.

Will we see Welch again?

Stacy: I think so. I'm glad he did the right thing and he should be rewarded for that by getting to come back to 51.

Mary Kate: He didn't leave on bad terms with the team, so I can see him returning at some point. Then again, even if he left on bad terms he could return to cause trouble. I did like how he stood up to replacement chief even if it meant that he would be fired from house.

Paul: Welch is one of those characters that will also pop up here and there. Bates Motel has wrapped filming for the season, so I'd expect him to pop up a few more times.

Are you glad Dawson tried to move on from Casey?

Stacy: Yeah, he did, why shouldn't she? She's obviously not ready, but at least she gave it a shot.

Mary Kate: Yes. If her and Casey belong together they'll eventually be together. It's good that she went out on that date, even though Brett didn't do the best job at setting Dawson up.

Paul: Yes. Why should Casey have all the fun? Good on her. All it took was a nudge from Brett. I'm happy for her.

Mouch has a son. React.

Stacy: That was a little out of left field. I admit I was disappointed he didn't go talk to him, but I wasn't surprised. I wish he hadn't lied to Platt about it, though I think she suspects and will ask him about it.

Mary Kate: I'm interested in seeing how that will play out. I didn't expect Mouch to not meet his son and I'm looking forward to when he hopefully does. His reaction to the situation was not what I had expected it to be. I do hope that Sgt. Platt returns as the story continues.

Paul: It really came out of nowhere, but it adds a new dynamic to his relationship with Platt. How will she react when she inevitably meets him? I don't think she'll be jealous, but she will be a little annoyed if she loses any more time with Mouch.

How did you feel about Donna wanting Boden back at work?

Stacy: She wants him there and he wants to be there, it's a win-win for them. I don't see a problem.

Mary Kate: I think she saw how much Boden was missing work, I mean he was hiding walkies around the house. She probably just thought it would be better for him to be at 51 and working than being at home and missing working at 51.

Paul: The woman really loves him. That's for sure. She wanted him to be happy because it would help with their home life aswell.
