Recap

The team investigates what appears to be a murder scene at a national monument, but the only clue left is a coded message made of human blood that will be the beginning of a scavenger hunt for the solution, courtesy of a new, technologically-proficient foe. Elsewhere, Booth and Brennan look for a new home.

When a severed skull and vertebrae appear under the statue of Lincoln at the American Heritage Museum, the Bones team sought to make a connection between the severed pieces and the killer who assembled them with only a fraction of the body.

The blood leads to five FBI agents with no visible connection, but the order of the vertebrae make up a code which Hodgins attempted and successfully broke. It led to a Department of Defense building and ultimately the discovery of a killer genius with a digital edge.

Outside the case, Booth and Brennan struggle to find the perfect home before the baby’s due date six weeks down the road. Booth eventually finds it in a government auction fixer up-er which Brennan loves despite its severe need to be repaired.
