Recap

Jamie and Ian visit a nearby indigenous nation. They want more guns of every kind.

The Cherokee chief likes bearkiller. He thinks he's funny. The Cherokee are upset that people just move onto their land, build houses, take their game. Jamie takes their request to tell the king under advisement.

The church is well on its way to being finished.

Tom will leave his hand to God's will. Claire thinks he's nuts, and Tom decides to bring forth a biblical saying that women are to do everything in silence. Malva finishes his thought with a smirk on her face, and he sends her off.

Claire chats with Malva and Allen, and they bring up witchcraft again. Malva seems interested in healing.

Ian and Jamie are sleeping over at the Cherokee camp, and two women crawl up on him, hoping for sex. Ian casually talks him throught it, laughing a bit. Then he talks with the women, trying to talk them off. Ian told them he couldn't lay with a woman until he brought guns to the camp.

Malva arrives at the house and observes Claire checking on Marsali. Afterward, Marsali finally opens a bit to Claire, and eventually shares all of her burdens. Fergus is ashamed he wasn't there to save her from Lionel. It makes Claire upset, and she goes home. She imagines Lionel calling her Dr. Rawlings and fixes herself a bit of ether.

Brianna is working with white phosphorous. She wants to make matches and promises Roger she'll be careful.

Roger just spoke with Tom about his mother-in-law's death. Tom has asked him to lead a memorial.

Jamie arrives home and rushes up to see Claire. He's a little randy, and he needs to have her now.

They make a mess of the room with their exuberant lovemaking.

Jamie talks with Claire about the Cherokee's request. If he doesn't supply guns, then they'll fight alongside the rebels, but if he does supply them, they'll fight alongside the crown.

Major McDonald's on the way!

Ian gets concerned as Jamie begins telling the McDonald what he things. Ian almost gives up what he knows, but McDonald leaves the room for cat allergies, and Jamie has a chance to tell Ian his thinking. They must use their knowledge of the future for informed decisions.

At the funeral, the old bird wakes up, and Tom thinks it's sorcery. This will not be good.

She wakes up just long enough to complain about her funeral and for Roger to tell her she's on the way nonetheless.

The sin eater arrives and she learns nobody was paid to eat her sins. He does the job anyway, giving her peace.

Brianna tries to tell everyone her good news, but they all think she's with child. Instead, she whips out a match. Nobody is all that impressed. They have no trouble building a fire, putting it out is another story.

Claire laughs when she says that some of the settlers thinks she's a witch after what happened with Grannie Wilson. Others think that's not so funny.

Marsali goes into labor, and there is a problem with the baby. If they have to do a cesarean, Marsali will die. Roger rides to Fergus to get him to stand the hell up. He's a blathering drunk. Roger might have talked him into moving.

Fergus arrives, and Marsali is so damn happy. It's all she wanted. Fergus heard that if you fondle and suckle a woman's breasts, it can stimulate labor. For something a little more unconventional, they make love.

Everyone skedaddles as the sounds get louder. Malva has never heard it before, though. She didn't know that some women liked it. Sinners? Whores? No. When you love someone, you want to give them pleasure, and they want to do the same for you.

Marsali gives birth to a dwarf. A perfectly healthy dwarf. Marsali is in love. Fergus, though, walked away. OMG. That baby is so adorable!

Roger and Brianna are just getting ready to get down and dirty when there is a knock at the door. It's Aiden. He was chasing rabbits and got lost. Roger will walk him home but not until he's wowed with a match.

Jamie finds the Cherokee nearby. Chief Bard, I think. They do not care that Jamie thinks it's for the best. Even Ian doesn't trust him. He'll find guns for them. If they are going to suffer the injustices that Claire portends, then they need a way to protect themselves.

Jamie visits Tom to tell him the church will be a non-denominational meeting house, a place where everyone can visit and learn their lessons.

Tom is angry when he sees the milk has turned. She was going to make butter. He smashes it to the ground and tells her she's just like her mother. He removed his belt and beats her. But his hand won't work, so he can't take out his miserable anger on her. She doesn't think much of her father. She sneers at him, and I want to applaud her.

Ian is visiting Marsali and the baby, giving the baby a blessing. Jamie is outside, listening in. Ian had a child. He tells her that Fergus grieves, but he'll come back.

Now that Tom cannot beat Malva, he wants Claire to fix his hand. She sends him away until his other hand heals properly.

Jamie changes his mind. He will share the Cherokee's wishes because of Ian's words.

Outlander Season 6 Episode 2 Quotes

Claire: Marsali, you don't mind, do you? I've invited Miss Christie to come observe.
Marsali: Well, let this be a lesson to ye lass. If you do have the misfortune to marry, dinna let him touch you, else you end up like this.

Malva: Yesterday we were sayin' how remarkable it is that you're a physician, you being a lady. Weren't we, Allan?
Allan: Yeah. We were, particularly when others might accuse such women of witchcraft and the like.
Claire: Well, if I should need to sharpen my broomstick or my surgeon's knives, Mr. Christie, I'll come to you first.
Malva: He doesn't take the slightest bit of interest in the subject of healing, whereas I am eager to learn.
Claire: If you'd like to accompany me in the morning, my daughter Marsali is with child, and I'm going to examine her. You might find it interesting.
Allan: Malva has duties to attend to at home.
Claire: Well, perhaps another time.
