After a secret town meeting about all the trouble the Simpsons have caused Springfield, the townspeople vote to exile the entire family. The Simpsons end up in an off-the-grid community known as the Outland where the people enjoy not being a part of organized society. One of their neighbors, Julian Assange, actually runs Wiki Leaks from the area. Everyone is happy with their new home except Marge who is terribly homesick. Homer sneaks her back into Springfield, but the couple is discovered by the townspeople. Marge and Homer are upset by the rude behavior of their neighbors and voluntarily return to the Outland. Soon their former neighbors move to the Outland looking for a better way of life until everyone has relocated and established a new Springfield.
