Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3 Episode 11 Review: Nathaniel and I are Just Friends!

at .

Time jumps aren't the answer to everything but it was exactly what the show needed this time around.

Eight months flashed everyone forward a bit, and yet it still felt like no time had past at all. There weren't significant shifts in dynamics or people so it felt more comfortable slipping right into these new stories being created.

On Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3 Episode 11, Rebecca struggled with some fears that she has continued to have about getting into a new relationship. Paula tries to figure out her new role at the office when her firned Sunil returns but their relationship changes. Heather tries to handle her pregnancy since this just happens to be something she can't actually quit.

Facing Her Fears - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Valencia is queer and nothing else will make me as happy as this moment has.

It has been a while since we have really seen Valencia and it makes sense when you consider everything that has been going on with Rebecca and the priority it took.

But seeing her back is just as wonderful and refreshing as I remembered.

There is the question of who she brought back with her, a very special someone that we can officially call her girlfriend.

Of course there wasn't nearly enough screen time between Beth and Valencia so that is very high on my list for the next plot to be explored a bit more.

Especially when you consider that they got together during a time jump and the audience didn't actually get to see any part of their relationship happen, that does call into question how long this could be a thing.

Unless Beth and Valencia's relationship gets explored a lot more soon, it is unrealistic to believe that they will last considering how little investment the viewers have with them.

It is promising to see Valencia move on from Josh and it doesn't matter if Beth will be a long lasting relationship or not, it is always that first step.

Although I will not say no to an abundance of scenes between Valencia and her new girlfriend because that is a gift that just keeps on giving.

Paula:Where have you been?
Rebecca: Nothing. Nowhere. The janitor is creepy.

Rebecca's fears make plenty of sense but there is no way to recover from her almost going to Nathaniel and him almost opening the door in time to talk her through what she is thinking.

Her thought process regarding intimacy at this point in her recovery is valid and important to consider, but Dr. Akopian has been nothing but honest with Rebecca so it could have helped her more to listen.

There is no possible way to imagine exactly how much Rebecca is struggling right now, especially since she hit rock bottom and she knows exactly what she doesn't want to return to.

But Rebecca still deserves happiness and she can't isolate herself from someone she cares about so much out of fear. This fear will never go away and she will miss out on the chance to maybe realize that she can make this work.

Also all I really want now is for Rebecca to know on Nathaniel's door and for them to cuddle in his bed with the stuffed alligator that he took before.

It's your brand. You have that mug that says office bitch.

Rebecca

Heather is making me proud, which has to be weird since she spent quite a good amount of time thinking she was going to skateboard eight months pregnant.

Regardless, Heather is finding success and happiness in her own life and it is wonderful to see her grow into her own.

It is also wonderful to see that she hasn't just become a different person, she is still thinking that quitting can be her first option in any situation that she isn't interested in anymore.

Which is why setting her up in a situation where quitting isn't exactly possible shakes up who she has become and who she is stil clinging onto.

Her relationship with Hector also gets tested but shockingly they are making it work more than anyone else seems to on the show. And the fact that the last time I said this it was about White Josh and Darryl before they ended things is not lost on me.

But moving forward it will be great to see Heather adjusting to her new normal as she gears up for it to be over at the same time. Not to mention, she will have her old life back soon enough so maybe she could actually try to learn how to skateboard.

I do not want to confront you because you are violent and scary and weigh more than me.

Hector

Josh is not only getting pulled from the credits, his journey is also not deserving of the prime spotlight on the show.

It is fascinating to me how little I think of Josh, in fact I only remembered him when he was talking with White Josh and I wonder what that means for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend moving forward.

From the beginning this has been Rebecca's story and Josh was just a detail that played into that. But now her focus is off him for the first time and it is strange.

What is even stranger is how easy it feels to slip in every once in a while without getting too involved in Josh. Just like Rebecca is remvoing herself from all Josh situations, the same is being done to the audience and I am interested to see where this goes.

What did you think of the episode? Is there any way for Nathaniel and Rebecca to make it work? How much are you loving Heather and Hector's relationship? Am I the only one who can't wait to see Trent come back and wreck some havoc? What else are you happy to see or wish to see less of? Let us know in the comments below.
