CBS has yet to confirm when its shows will return after their summer hiatus, but we now know when one of the network's veteran shows will be back.
Criminal Minds' Executive Producer Harry Bring took to Twitter earlier this week to offer up some details about the upcoming season, and in turn, he revealed when the show would return to the schedule.
"Criminal Minds S14 premiere date confirmed. Wednesday September 26, 2018. 10pm CBS," reads the initial tweet he shared earlier this week.
While it's not confirmed by the network, it would make sense that an Executive Producer would know when the show is returning before it's announced officially.
Also, that date would put it right in line with most of the previous season premieres for the series, so we're inclined to believe this news will become a reality when the network releases premiere dates.
But fans wanted to know more details about the show, so sent some questions Harry's way, and there was one that may have cast a dark cloud over the show's future.
"Do we know how many episodes yet?" asked one fan, to which Bring said the following:
"15 ordered with more possible if lots of things fall into place. Uncertain of that."
While Criminal Minds is no longer the heavy ratings hitter it once was, it still performed respectably last season.
Moving to a later time slot, it averaged 5.7 million viewers and a 1.0 rating. Granted, these figures represent declines of over 20 percent year-to-year, but it recouped some of the losses with delayed viewing.
What do you think of this news, TV Fanatics?
Does the reduced episode order signal the end of the line for the series, or do you believe the show could go on for several more years?
