Kim responds to a robbery in progress when she gets out of therapy. She tries to chase after the armed offenders but one of them shotos at her which is nervewracking.

They catch video footage of the offenders having sex with each other. Ruzek notes that Kim must be doing better because she didn't have a reaction when she was under gunfire.

Burzek find out that offender they're after was once a victim when another cop in the lab gives them rape kit information as a match.

Burgess and Voight get into an ethical standoff about whether or not they can use the DNA for their case.

Burgess and Atwater respond to another robbery in progress when they're investigating a location and talking to neighbors. Atwater chases after one of the offenders while Burgess takes care of the person who was shot in the shop. He tells her that someone is stillt here.

Burgess confronts Ruby, the victim they learned about, and she's holding a gun and reciting numbers. After lots of shouting, Burgess finally convinces her to drop the gun, and she arrests Ruby.

Burgess talks to Ruby in interrogation but sh e won't speak.

Burgess wonders if Ethan, the guy who assaulted Ruby four years prior may be connected to this and Ruzek goes with her to his houuse to check out her hunch. They find a bloody footprint and doorknob.

They check out the house. Kim finds boots in the bathtub with water and bleach and evidence that suggests that he's the second offender.

Burgess tries to talk to Ruby again with no progerss and then takes her to the scene of her rape and tells her that she'd help her get a deal and help her if she talks. Eventually, after recognizing a placard with the miles that she memorieze to ground herself when she ws raped, Ruby tells Kim that she knows how to reach Evan.

Voight asks Kim if he needs to know anything about how she's doing and that he always has her back.

Kim tells Ruby that her deal and lawyer are good but she'll still have to be charged for some things. Ruby goes back to grounding herself.

They track down Ethan and when he goes for his gun, Kim shoots him without a problem and no shaking.

Adam wants to hang out with Kim later since Mack is at a sleepover. She tells him about going to therapy with her and he does. The therapist broaches their relationship wihen Adam brings up how he adjusted to their new relationship when he wanted more and she didn't.

She says that she never not wanted more but can't explain her feeligns that made her stop and they end therapy.

They head home and at the house, Adam asks her about it and she tells him how she felt numb and scared. He goes to walk awayy, but she stops him and initiates a kiss that leads to steamy sex.
