Anna and Kristoff awaken from the freezing spell and track down Blackbeard to buy the wishing star from him but it's a trap and Hans and his brother capture them once again. Blackbeard throws Anna and Kristoff in a trunk and throws them overboard. 

Back in Storybrookie, the Shattered Sight spell will begin at sundown. Everyone will tear one another apart until they're all dead. Mr. Gold wants Belle and Henry to be able to leave Storybrooke before the spell hits or he'll spend his immortality working to rip the Snow Queen's heart out. She makes the deal.

As the residents of Storybrooke try and fail to scale the ice wall and get out of town, Elsa finds Anna's necklace and takes it as a sign of hope. 

Belle's research says that you can make a vaccine against the spell by using a strand of hair from a person who was previously under the spell. Elsa believes Anna is that person, if they can find her. The create a locator spell to find Anna. It leads them to a dead end in the tunnel.

The dwarves can break through the tunnel but there isn't enough time. Belle can use the necklace to make the counterspell or they can use it to save Anna, but not both. The Charmings decide they need to save the town and sacrifice Anna.

Elsa takes the necklace breaks through the tunnel but she and Emma end up on a beach and there's no Anna. Elsa wishes on her necklace and it turns out to be the wishing star. It brings the trunk with Anna and Kristoff inside to shore. Anna and Elsa are reunited.

As the fairies work for a cure, Mr. Gold forces Hook to put the fairies into the Sorcerer's hat. Gold plans to flee Storybrooke with Belle and Henry, leaving the residents to suffer with the curse. But Regina has Henry locked away at her office. She then locks herself in her vault.

At the Sheriff's office, Mary Margaret gives Emma baby Neal as she and David lock themselves in separate cells but when the curse finally hits, they look at one another through the bars in disdain.
