Darlene catches Harris leaving the house in a skimpy costume and lets her go when Harris threatens to tell David that Darlene is still sleeping with Ben. Later, Harris gets high with her new friend, Odessa. 

Mark wins Lanford’s new motto contest with “Lanford, Free, Proud, and Getting Cleaner.”

Louise is the new manager at Casita Bonita. Becky asks her for the bartender’s job so that she can make more money but Dan doesn’t think it’s a good idea. He worries about Becky drinking again. At home, Becky empties two cases of beer cans to sell the cans for recycling. Dan is horrified but Becky says that she can drink anywhere, not only at the bar. Dan says he worries about her and just wants to fix things. Becky tells him he can’t and they both have to live with the uncertainties. 

Darlene gets a flat tire and is stranded on the side of the road. Her cell service is lousy and she doesn’t think her texts have gone through so she ends up texting both Ben and David. To her surprise, they both show up making things extremely awkward.

Jackie helps Darlene realize that she wants to be with Ben. David has been going to therapy without Darlene. She agrees to go, planning to break up with him in the session. Turns out, David breaks up with Darlene because she’s always in control of their relationship and he needs to move on.

Later, Darlene comes clean with Ben. Ben said he figured it out when he saw the look on her face when both he and David came to help her with the flat tire. Ben says that’s why he’s breaking up with her. They’ll still work together but their personal relationship is over. Darlene is devastated.
