Four Weddings and a Funeral is coming to Hulu later this month, and it looks like a charming dramedy that is sure to be a hit.
The series is an anthology drama, with the first season spanning ten episodes.
Instead of the binge model adopted by various other Hulu originals, Four Weddings and a Funeral will unspool weekly from July 31.
It follows "four American friends — Maya, Craig, Ainsley, and Duffy — who reunite for a fabulous London wedding."
"But after a bombshell at the altar throws their lives into turmoil, they must weather a tumultuous year of romance and heartbreak."
"Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course, there are four weddings...and a funeral."
It is based on the 1994 movie of the same name. Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton are behind the adaptation.
The cast includes Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) Guz Khan (Turn Up Charlie), Sophia La Porta (the U.K.’s The Five), Zoe Boyle (Frontier), Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Mindy Project), and Brandon Mychal Smith (You’re the Worst).
The trailer shows many big scenes, and one of the funniest is when Maya learns that the hot man she was talking to at the airport is actually dating her best friend.
It's awkward, but it gives Maya some food for thought as she wonders what to do next.
