Cougar Town

Jules celebrated her 42nd Birthday this week on Cougar Town and I was very surprised to not see any wine drinking games as a result ofit.

It's a birthday party, for goodness sake! And out of everyone, it's our beloved wino's birthday!

"Fooled Again (I Don't Like It)" was a pretty fun episode if you're a fan of the amazing movie that is The Usual Suspects, but if you aren't, you were probably wondering how Andy's eccentric antics pertained at all to Jule's birthday.

The answer? It really didn't at all! I think the whole point of the episode was to prove that Andy really isn't a buffoon, but a diabolical evil mastermind.

When Jules confronted Andy with a hand gun to his head, I honestly believed him. Ellie, of course, knew better. And she gave the line of the night when she said:

This is probably one of my favorite quotes ever and if you told me that it would have been in tonight's episode of Cougar Town, I would have thought you were bat sh*t crazy.

So instead of any wine drinking games, Jules focus was on a competition to see who would give her the best birthday present. Ellie had won the last nine years in a row and Laurie even goes as far as to call her the gift whisperer.

It was pretty entertaining to watch Grayson cry like a baby when Ellie gave him the rocket ship with a picture of him as a kid with his pops. She really is that good.

That's probably why I was surprised that Laurie's Asian trick worked! Laurie really takes dumb blond to the next level, yet she was able to convince Ellie that Jules wanted Asian inspired decor? What gives?

Travis and Bobby's storyline involving the neti pot felt a bit bizarre to me. It seemed that Bobby is still having a hard time adjusting to Travis being away learning new things in college. One of them being the neti pot. Really Bobby?

Bobby almost drowning using the neti pot? Kind of lame in my book. I don't know, if felt almost like Jackass type humor. Maybe you just have to be a guy to really get it and find it hilarious?

Overall, I just love this group of people. They've really formed into a family that is just over-the-top fun!
