Two and a Half Men Review: It's Momageddon!

at . Comments

Following a couple weeks off the air, Two and a Half Men returned with an improved episode last night, and it was due to the integration of supporting characters.

In “Palmdale, Ech," both Walden and Alan took back row seats, popping up here and there with terrific timing, but never dominating the action. I'm quite happy that our beloved secondary players stepped into the spotlight here and delivered the kind of comedy to which we've grown accustomed over the years: crude humor, unbelievable outcomes and surprising stupidity.

Jake and Eldridge and Walden

This week was filled with drinking, partying and hooking up. And that's not even all. Let's not forget about creepy old men or Jake and Eldridge app-hunting. Zoe was conveniently   absent, and I didn't mind, as her character was becoming monotonous and annoying. I would have liked some Berta, though.

But Georgia Engel definitely shone tonight. I wasn't a huge fan of her on Everybody Likes Raymond, but she had a good rapport with the cast here, especially with Evelyn, considering that, yes, they hooked up (Ewww, anyone?). Overlooking that odd storyline, though, she did a great job overall as Lyndsey’s mother, acting as a carbon copy of Evelyn, which Alan rightly summed up:

They are both disappointed with their children and their grand-children.

Meanwhile, I would totally watch a Jake and Eldridge spinoff. They had me laughing throughout the episode, from arguing about their virginities, to brainstorming for ideas on apps and “consulting" for Walden. Both were great. I really want to see them in upcoming episodes.

So, what do you all think? Do you want to see more of Evelyn, Jake, Berta and Eldridge and less of Zoey? Has this episode restored your faith in the show? Sort through our Two and a Half Men quotes section and sound off now!

The show sucks. Charlie made the show and it was mualsoch more funnier when he was on. They also have more Evelyn and Jakes mom and. Herb. I wish they could come up that Alan woke up after a horrible dream and he sees Charlie and Charlie Sheen was there and he said he had this nightmare dream that Charlie was dead and this guy Walden bought the house. Then Charlie says That's never going to happen and all is well.

Its awful without uncle charlie, the story has no interesting turns and doesnt make sense anymore, better cancel it or brign back crazy Charlie Sheen

Time to end the show. Ashton will never fill Charlie's shoes & is just bring down the rest of the cast.

zoe isn't funny, need a new gf for walden.

jack and eldredge are over exposed, more mom and don't have alan so wimpy and spineless. more herb and judith time, they are funny.

@ Linda, why is it so hard for people like you to understand, that it's not supposed to be the same?

I used to watch TAHM every Monday,I never missed it. Now I don't even watch it and neither do all my friends. Why is so hard for the critics to admit that the show is not the same without Charlie Sheen? Ashton is just not funny.

In my opinion this was one of season nine's weakest shows. Jake's and Eldridge's stupidity is funny up to a point but it took up too much time of the show and became annoying. Evelyn is a great supporting character but the storyline with her getting it on with another old lady wasn't funny. Lyndsey's mom didn't convince as a bitter mother the way Evelyn does and if Evelyn is gonna score with someone it's funnier if it's with someone younger. Alan did have his moments, like when it was time to pay the check, but that and a few other moments didn't make up for everything else. A pretty mediocre episode.

I'm just tired of "trying" to get back into this show - just don't think
having everyone being dumb or stupid is funny --- there's no hope to ever
get attached to Walden -- there's no acting or anything much less funny about
him...and enough with having Jake so ridiculously dumb -- enough.... . I say we could do without Lindsay, Walden's ex-wife, and the new girlfriend --NO way can they carry the comedy so sorely missing in the show (and as far as many are concerned, we can do without Walden, too - you just got the wrong guy there)...- and get your writers to bring back more (lots more) of the real comedians - Berta, Rose, the mother, and Herb & Judith (Herb is one of the funniest guys ever) -At least "try" to build around the people who carried part of the comedy around Charlie -- Even Alan -- get back to the "old Alan " -- We all know it will never be great as it was with Charlie --- but you just don't seem to get it? I think you've about lost most all the fans of the show -- and its sad because it used to be so wonderful.... now it just feels like you are making change after change in search of something that you can't get back --- Its the "funny" that you're lacking - why not bring in some well-known great comedians to guest star --- and write the lines around them - at least, hopefully, you can get people laughing again -- and take it from there...

I am very disapointed it just is trash - what kids talk like that and smoke pot - terrible - at leaset you expect it from Charlie and Berta - it isn't going to make it
