Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 5 Review: Along Comes Mary

Did Aria say yes?!

On Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 5, we finally got to witness the big proposal that's been teased to death, but we never got to see the outcome of it.

Another Suspect - Pretty Little Liars

It was Ezria, y'all!

It's about time these two took their relationship to the next level. They are so obviously endgame and considering there's every possibility that we're approaching the conclusion of the series, they should be together.

The thing that could come between them is that Aria is still intent on keeping things from Ezra. I understand that the gals didn't want to bring people in on that big death, but the repercussions of lying never die them any favors in the past.

It really is time the gals grew up and realized the error of their ways. One of the main things that got to me was when Emily and Aria were in Archer's hideous apartment.

Why in the hell would they be touching things without wearing gloves? This isn't the first time something like this has happened and it sure as hell won't be the last. They're pretty lucky it was Toby who showed up.

It was somewhat surprising that Toby even went to the apartment alone. There's every reason to believe that Archer could kill. Yeah, we know that he isn't alive, but he obviously has a group of minions.

One of them is most definitely Jenna. Ali's house was obviously the usual place that the person on the other side of the cell text back. I yelped a little when she had the audacity to turn the door knob.

Manners cost nothing!

Jenna's only back in Rosewood to cause drama and it sure looks like she won't be doing it alone. Right now, it seems like she has a team of three people, but expect that to become two before long.

She can't see you following her. It's not like she has working eyes on the back of her head.

Spencer

Noel Kahn is a bit of a mixed bag. He has the looks, but I don't think he has the A game. There's always been something off about him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing Jenna and Sarah.

Yes, you guys. Shower Harvey is back, and she's out for blood. Did anyone witness that look of joy on her face when she realized that she and Jenna had a common enemy?

I wonder if she's already started sending Jenna down payments for her water bill. Let's face it, Sarah's going to be using Jenna's shower whether she agrees to let her, or not.

Right now, it seems like Sarah is broken up about what went down, but also quite a bit ecstatic at the possibility of finally getting revenge on the gals. Her whole revenge plan is horrible. She's done enough to them.

I don't know what it is, but something about Pretty Little Liars Season 7 has felt so fresh. Normally by this point in a season, I want it to end. Now, I'm sitting here debating with myself whether the show should continue on for another season.

There is still time for it all to fall apart, but it's all good for the moment. It sure seems like the most patient fans of television are finally being rewarded.

"Along Comes Mary" wasn't on the same caliber as Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 4, but there was still a lot to like about the hour.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • Am I the only one who actually believes Mary Drake? She seems ever so genuine, but that could all be part of her plan.
  • Poor Alison. First, a crazy boyfriend after being brought up by a crazy family and now she's broke. Where is the justice?
  • I'm starting to dig Emily and Sabrina. I sure hope Paige is on Team A.D whenever she pops up.
  • Is there a chance that Nicole could actually be alive? That was super weird getting a phone call from a dead person.
  • Is it just me, or does Jason always have a the poorest of reasons for staying away from his sister?
  • Could Elliot have been playing Wilden the whole time?
  • The mask on the bed looked oddly similar to the one looking in Aria's window late on Pretty Little Liars Season 6.
  • Where is Caleb? Spencer wants to apologize, and I actually like Spaleb.
