All of the liars' secrets may have blown up in their faces, but the biggest secret of all may not be as solved as they think it is.

Did they really figure out who killed Nolan?

Keeping Up Appearances - PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

Jeremy has been on our radar since he was first introduced on PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 1

Jeremy was one of the only characters that fit all of the ideal checkboxes for a satisfying reveal.

He had a strong emotional connection with one of the main characters, he was someone that the audience cared about, and despite him not originally getting portrayed as a suspect, it would make perfect sense for him to have committed the crime.

But now that the liars officially believe that Jeremy is Nolan's killer, it's becoming more and more likely that he isn't.

He was following Nolan. Stalking him like a jealous boyfriend.

Taylor

The number one indication is that, although everything Jeremy said made it sound like he killed Nolan, he never actually confessed to it.

Difficult Conversations - PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

Pretty Little Liars has a habit of making you believe one thing when really you should believe the opposite.

Now that all signs point to Jeremy, it feels as if the audience should be looking elsewhere.

This isn't to say that Jeremy wasn't doing anything wrong. There's no denying that Jeremy has been exemplifying suspicious behavior. But is he Nolan's killer? It's starting to seem unlikely.

In all likelihood, The Perfectionists probably won't even reveal the killer to the audience until the exact moment it's revealed to the characters.

Only at that point, will viewers be able to look back on the season and put the pieces together.

Act normal bitches.

Ava

Odds are, the killer isn't someone either viewers or the characters have considered.

Taylor evidently isn't above killing anyone, but it's hard to view her a suspect when she's working so hard to find her brother's killer.

Beacon Guard - PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

But Taylor may end up behind bars for a different murder, as she had no problem shooting Jeremy in the chest when he was attempting to get away.

Taylor pulling out the gun was arguably the most shocking moment of PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1

The most surprising factor wasn't even that Taylor pulled the trigger, but more that she had zero hesitation while doing it.

There wasn't even time for the characters or audience to process what was happening before Jeremy was bleeding out on the dock.

As PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9 proved, there's still a lot about Taylor that we don't know.

While it was difficult to guess that Taylor created Beacon Guard, it all makes perfect sense seeing as how advanced her particular program is.

Even though Taylor's shot was remarkably accurate, Caitlin realized that Jeremy was still breathing in the final seconds of PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

If Jeremy didn't commit the crime as we suspect, things are going to get awkward between him and Caitlin.

Make a Move - PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

It was nearly impossible not to feel empathy for Caitlin, as she was the scene stealer of PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

The audience witnessed Caitlin and Jeremy's relationship firsthand, and it always seemed like a bond that most people long for. Jeremy supported Caitlin unconditionally and was there for her when no one else was.

It makes sense that this revelation was particularly hard on her and put everything that she believed into question.

There's no way to make this better. I just want to find out the truth.

However, the most important relationship and heart of the show continues to be the one between Dylan, Caitlin, and Ava.

Act Normal - Tall - PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

Waitching their friendship grow and evolve over PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 is what's made the series so enjoyable thus far.

These three characters started in entirely different places, but they were able to come together and build a family.

Ava: It does look like we've lost everything. Like we've failed. But until now, I've never had friends like you guys. Friends who feel like family.
Dylan: Ava's right. We will get through this. Together.
Caitlin: I love you guys.

Now that everyone's secrets are essentially out, and everything is blowing up in the liars' faces, it's reassuring to know that the trio's friendship has reached a strong enough point to overcome anything.

One Last Chance - PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 9

Stray thoughts:

  • We didn't expect Mona to get fired so quickly. The relationship between her and Mason seemed like something they could use as blackmail down the line. But can we blame Claire for terminating her? What Mona was doing was all kinds of inappropriate.
  • Andrew is officially the best boyfriend ever. We have our fingers crossed that his plan to get Dylan recognized will succeed.
  • Now that all the liars are essentially being forced to leave BHU what's next? Something major is going to have to happen for all of their situations to find a remedy.
  • Ava and Zach kissed and we are loving it. Team #Zava for life.
