Louise has recovered from Covid-19 and joins The Conners for dinner.

Darlene and Ben argue. He thinks she’s being ridiculous about going to Hawaii. He doesn’t understand why she can’t see the bigger picture. Darlene is angry that Barb told her father he should sell his house and stop holding his kids back, but Ben thinks Barb did the right thing because she was doing it for him.

Darlene decides to go to Hawaii and asks Jeff, the new guy at work, to join her. Later, Barb asks Darlene to dinner and sees that Darlene gets a text from Jeff about Hawaii. Darlene says she wants to live in the moment. Barb points out that she did that and it hurt the people she loved. She tells Darlene that while she wants to run off to Hawaii with another man, Ben is living at the hardware store because he wants to live with and grow old with her.

Darlene tells Ben that she hadn’t sold the tickets because when her friend died, she was assessing morality, but now she has, and she’s helped pay down her father’s mortgage. Darlene tells Ben she can’t wait to live with him. Ben seems less than thrilled since he thought they’d already covered this territory and it seems that Darlene lied to him once again, but at least they’re back on the same page.

Becky is back from rehab and is pushing Dan to stop drinking so much. She gives a presentation on addiction to Mark’s class. It’s a bit of a disaster because she’s so brutally honest with the kids.

Jackie’s episode of Jeopardy airs. Jackie did horribly. She ended up in the negative and doesn’t make final Jeopardy. Bev calls her to chastise her for going on a show where she had to know something and letting the world see her fail. Jackie says her buzzer was broken, so the show invites her to come back to do another show, but she later admits to Neville that she lied to save face.

As Darlene and Ben are back together, Darlene invites Barb over to play poker with the family.
