Sorry three strikes and you are out. Can't watch another uncomfortable episode. With exception of a couple of lines from Jake on episode 3) the whole thing is awkward, uncomfortable, unbelievable and not funny. Annoying voice overs, pointless weird scenes (cjec out allan and walden naked in same chair on episode 2) and slapstick food fight in restaurant and allans ex hitting on Walden? I dont want to see Ashton replay his 70's show charactor in Two and a Half Men guys. Whats up with writers and producers? Brain freeze? Not blaming Ashton. Just bad lines and scripts - looks like writers are winging it and confused what direction show and Walden character will take. Not likely to see another season if it continues. No longer smart, fast moving, witty OR entertaining.

Without Charlie I see only one way save this thing.

    1. Ashton reconciles with his wife and moves out, (off the show), and leaves the house to Alan for his kindness.
    2. Herb and Judith split up and Herb moves in with Alan.

Herb and Alan already have an interesting chemistry and lets face it, Ryan Stiles is far better fit in the beach house than Ashton will ever be.

    What do ya think?

I usually set the set-top-box to view the show one week in advance since this was my favourite show and for the first time I did not since there was absolutely no desire. I share the sentiments as other reviewers, it is no longer funny and I continue to just watch the reruns. I think the target audience has now shifted as my family and friends have also stopped watching what was once a great show. Monday night football can now get my full attention, the viewership must be declining each week, does anybody have the stats?

    Disappointed Jamaican.

Here's the escape from misery. Rose off course didn't kill Charlie. She trapped him inside her beach house. To keep him for herself. That explains why the body was beyond recognition. One day Jake or that Walden discovers Charlie is alive... Time to let walden die.

  5. Micki

Chuckie, you really screwed up. The show sucks and it won't get any better without Charlie. I couldn't wait for Monday nights to watch the show. I never called it Two and A Half Men, I said "it's time for Charlie".I agree with all the others, stop with the knocks against Charlie, you only make yourself look petty, and Charlie deserves better than that. I've watched 3 episodes and that's enough unless Charlie comes back. No one is the same,no chemistry.Kutcher's character plays stupid and even if that were changed, he just doesn't cut it.

  6. Dirk Jan

poor Lorre completely lost it. He is probably depressed. Or certainly soon will be. So.get back Sheen, Chuck, and be a genius again.

  7. Nick

Charlie was the show, rehire charlie and save the show or just cancel it.This show will not make it without Charlie, you just can't replace a man with a kid.

Something isn't right. Berta seems differant. Alan is not as funny without Charlie. Waldon isn't funny just stupid. It just seems like it's not clicking. I'm hopping that Waldon is differant. I really want to like the show but the reruns make me laugh my butt off. I understand that waldon can't be like Charlie but it just isn't funny and there are so many comercials. Just saying!

This was the worst episode yet! I committed to watch for one more week as I was a serious fan who watched all the re-runs from all the seasons at least 3x each, but the new show is not funny anymore- and in fact- it is stupid.
Mr. Lorre, please stop the insults about Charlie during the show. they are insulting to the characters who have to recite them. You would think Allen would show some sympathy on his late brother`s demise- He lived in his house for 8 years-The lines are insulting to your viewers.
The writing stinks without Charlie!!! There is no chemistry between Ashton and Allen. MR LORRE-PLEASE BRING BACK CHARLIE OR CANCEL THE SHOW -CHARLIE WAS THE SHOW!!!!!!!

Note to writers: make kuchers character tolerable. Cut his hair and shave his beard. Then give the audience an excuse for Ashton' character's ignorance. Like he's great with computers but with everything else he's amoron!

  11. Maggie

Alan was tolerable when Charlie was with him, now he is not, Jake was cute when he was truly a half man, now he is not, even Berta seems different. I don't know if it is Ashton's fault or it is now just a group with no chemistry but it is ordinary at best. I, too, much prefer the old re-runs.

  12. Marie

We agree with Gary clark comments and the show will never be #1 again in the ratings, Chuck L and CBS president made a very big mistake over a pety incident between them all, Charlie screwed himself out of a wonderful and what was funny show..I will be watching him on any reruns I can find and our collection of "Men" DVD's...just saying!

  13. Marie

We thought Alan and Jake were really funny this week, and Berta funny as always, but Ashton does not bring anything to the show. There is no flow between them now. Bring the ghost of Charlie back, or is he alive, we may never know. Show screwed up by hiring another actor, all they had to do was work with what they already had. Bring Herb over for some fun times..

I think as long as the writers keep making negative remarks about Charlie then comparisons are gonna keep happeneing...how about they stop taking digs at the character and actually focus on Walden's character development a bit more!

  15. Mom

    Dear Mr. Lorre,

Change the name of the show to “three half men” and ride out the rest of the season with subpar ratings. You substituted Sheen with a cheap irritating cranked up laugh track and a poorly chosen replacement. The new writing has no continuity or creativity. The negative reviews are overwhelming. You now heard from your audience …….so, fix it!

  16. Last Laugh

They buried Charlie on the 1st episode and buried all the jokes with him!!
I'll be watching re-runs on Fox and FX too!
    Where there's Charlie...there's laughter!!

I always thought Kutchet was way over rated, loved his character in "That 70's Show" but that was as far as it went. He is having a bad few weeks everyone knows now he is a horrible actor and now they know he cheats on his wife (never got that anyway, makes both look weird) but never the less he is all done as a bankable star..don't let the door hit you Ashton on the way back to wherever you came from.

It's called chemistry, and there no longer is any with this show. That rare magic that happens between actors and makes a show great is what sent Two 1/2 Men to the top. Now it's a very average sitcom that usually gets cancelled after one season. I gave it a shot since I still loved the other characters, but stopped watching after the second episode. Nothing against Ashton, but wow....what's happening with the show is pathetic.
I have to agree with Chevy's comments, which are spot on....and I'll continue to watch the FX and Fox re-runs in syndication as well.

Are we being Punk'd?? Ok Ashton, you got us...now it's time for you to go.
    You are "LOSING!"

  20. Tina

I want this to succeed, but Kutcher is almost distracting to the humor. And what is with the Laugh Track?? It was so loud last night that I almost turned the channel because it felt like we were watching a show that was using the laugh track as it's punchline.

I quit on the second show I just would rather watch the old.showes with Charlie. I could only watch Allen so much it help with Charlie wise cracks putting him down to make the show real . Cause in the real world of men we always try to make the weakest boy or man grow up by playing jokes or tricking them or even making fun of them so they will grow up tough enough to face the real world ..and Charlies part did that ..face it Allen looks like Barney Fife on Andy Griffith show , but acts like aunt Bee a gripy old lady ..and that sissy side of him needs a man's man to even out the show .but the show where it looked like Allen and walden had gotten drunk and had sex turn my stomach .right then I new I would never watch 2 and a half men again . It should be called 2 and a half girls .. I just think that the Barney Fife look alike needs to either just go play a Barney Fife returns to Broadway.. put a uniform on him and he could act brave like Barney did ..well sorry I just hated Allen on

I can't help but think that Chuck Lorre will soon be thinking about bringing Charlie back somehow. The obvious big question (once they've buried the hatchet) will obviously be "how?"
On various sites and forums, Ive seen where some people suggest making these Kutcher episodes into some weird dream Charlie had, etc. Just the thing about Charlie being off in Paris with Rose and married, then murdered opens up a lot of possibilities, almost as though Lorre had this in mind as a subconcious possibility in case he had to bring Charlie back.
For example, maybe he wasn't really murdered afterall and suddenly shows up at his door one day, etc. That just came to me now, and I'm sure there are all kinds of scenarios people could come up with. I suppose if enough people were to write the CBS website wanting Charlie back, and suggested ways to do it (they have a "feedback" section at the bottom of the page), who knows? It might help.

I took improvisation classes from Del Close ("Saturday Night Live" director). He once said, "When character acting, don't play below the level of your own intelligence." I think is precisely what is wrong with the Walden character. I'd like to see Charlie Sheen brought back. Again, his comedy chemistry with Cryer is stunning. Right now, Jon looks like is carrying a very heavy comedic load - which he is.

  24. Heather

While I agree the show is not very good at the moment I don't like the Ashton bashing. The fault is with the writing!

  25. comedian

Charlie and Jon were a comedy team. Their timing was like music. You can not break up a comedy team and fill it randomly. The show has lost the comedic genius that everyone loved.
