More than one secret comes out on PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 4, and not everyone is as forgiving as one might hope.
With the liars divided and Alison and Mona both in troubling situations, there's a lot of different ways everything could play out.

But unfortunately, the series is already becoming repetitive of its predecessor and lacks the suspense that Pretty Little Liars was effortlessly able to elicit.

Similar to PLL: The Perfectionists Season 1 Episode 3, this episode fell slightly flat.
Not only was it a bit anticlimactic and dull, but it also butchered a relationship that fans of Pretty Little Liars hold dear.
The problems between Emily and Alison make little to no sense, to say the least. Anyone who watched the original series could see that Emily was head over heels for Alison, and was even the first person to offer her trust and forgiveness.
There hasn't been a real explanation for the couple's issues, and it's unnecessary to even put them in this position in the first place.
I think you moved on Alison. You just never said it out loud.
Mona
Obviously, there had to be a reason for the separation as Shay Mitchell is not contracted for the spinoff, but this wasn't the right move to make.
It feels as if one of the best things to come from Pretty Little Liars was butchered in order to sustain a series that is proving to be weak and poorly thought out.
At this point, the series could ultimately turn out to be a bust and the relationships the writers had to sacrifice will turn out to be meaningless.
The problem isn't with the characters. In fact, the characters are an amazing addition to the world and are probably the most interesting thing about the show.
The problem is the mundane storyline and inability to make the audience truly care about what's going on outside of the characters' personal issues.

Shouldn't the audience be kept wondering who murdered Nolan in the first place? For some reason, we just don't seem to care all that much.
It's possible it's still too early in the season to become truly invested and by the time all is revealed viewers will be satisfied, but right now the liar's budding friendship is carrying the show. And their friendship isn't all that strong.
Caitlin's confession to Ava was disappointing to say the least.
The two had really started to form a strong bond and the building of trust and love between them and with Dylan has made the show worth watching.
Ava will have to forgive Caitlin at some point, but odds are, it's going to take a while.
Although it was unintentional, Caitlin is single-handily the reason why Ava's time at BHU has been so miserable, and why she couldn't escape her old life.
Ava isn't the only person Caitlin's lies are getting her into trouble with. Her relationship with Jeremy is now on the rocks because he caught her in a lie.
Frankly, our bets are still on Jeremy as Nolan's murderer. He's just too perfect and we never have any idea where he is or what he's doing when he's not with Caitlin.

Playing the victim could simply be a way for Jeremy to take the heat off of himself.
If he doesn't have anything to do with Nolan's death however, then Jeremy is tied with Andrew for the purest character in the series. It's all a bit conflicting.
Speaking of Andrew, Dylan is also having trouble with secrets when it comes to his boyfriend.
It can't be stressed enough how disheartening it is that Dylan cheated on Andrew.
The two are absolutely adorable together and it would have been interesting to see if Andrew was brought into everything alongside the rest of the liars.
But there's no excuse for infidelity and no excuse can be made for what Dylan did.
What can I do to fix this?
Dylan
As much as we want them together, Dylan and Andrew's relationship will always be tarnished. It makes it almost impossible to root for the two, or truly believe that they belong together.
Despite what went down, it's good that Dylan put everything out in the open so that Mason no longer has anything to hold over his head.
At least, we think he doesn't.
Mason is essentially trying to take Nolan's place and blackmail the liars into doing what he wants. As suspicious as that sounds, Mason seems more like a plain old asshole than a killer.

Dylan
It's more than likely that he's taking advantage of Nolan's death than that he actually caused it.
Mona and Alison both ended up in places they weren't supposed to be and are in rather similar predicaments.
We did expect that Alison would run into Taylor eventually considering how confident she was that Taylor was still alive.
Mona: What are we talking about then?
Alison: A feeling.
Mona: What kind of feeling?
Alison: The same one that told me you were alive when everyone else thought you were dead.
What we didn't expect, was for Taylor to flee and lock Alison inside her own trailer.
When it comes to Mona's situation it was a bit obvious that there was something off with the worker Mona met on campus. If he didn't have a bigger role, their interaction would have been an insignificant and meaningless waste of screentime.

"Ray" may have had newspaper clippings of the Hotchkiss sibling's deaths scattered around his apartment, but it feels like there's more to the story.
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next week to discover what that story actually is.
Overall, The Perfectionists isn't bad, it's just that it's mediocre. The show doesn't blow other dramas out of the water, but it also doesn't bore the audience or make viewers want to flip the channel.
We have hope that over the course of the season, the series will up the suspense factor and take things to the next level.
