There has been something missing this season. With so many storylines running in different directions we haven't really been able to see anyone truly connect.
Thankfully, that all changed on Mayans M.C. Season 2 Episode 5.
If the name of the game was feelings, then Angel was surely the winner because boy did he deliver.
If he wasn't screaming in anger he was crying in sorrow. The poor boy was all over the place.
Felipe just so happened to show up at the perfect time as Angel learned of Adelita's apprehension.
Angel harbors so many harsh feelings towards his father, but at that moment none of it mattered.
That moment which was probably one of the scariest moments of Angel's life, Felipe was there.
Angel was devastated. He didn't know what was going to happen to Adelita or her unborn child that he believes is his; a belief I'm still not so sure of.
In a raw moment of vulnerability, he clung to his father. They needed this. Angel needed this.
Adelita: You don't care about me or my child. Answer the question.
Potter: We're taking you to a federal holding facility. We'll keep you healthy and comfortable until the birth. Then we'll want to know all the things you know. We'll torture you, but that probably won't work so we'll use your child as leverage. I have a theory, a blasphemous one; I dont believe King Soloman was a wise man at all. I think he was a malevolent sadist who just got lucky. A mother's love knows no boundaries, nor can it hide the truth that holds it.
Happy's words from Mayans M.C. Season 2 Episode 4 "poor little Angel, nobody loved him" reverberated throughout that scene.
How long has it been since Angel felt loved? Angel shifted from a tough biker to a lost little boy who needed comfort effortlessly.

Perhaps that is why he's so enamored with Adelita. In Adelita he sees a family that he feels like he's never had.
He sees a chance to start over and offer the love to his child that he feels he never received.
It's unclear at this point if Adelita feels as strongly about Angel as he does her, but we do know that she is unwaveringly dedicated to her cause.
Adelita had a golden opportunity to escape and secure safety for herself and that of her child, but she chose to stay.
Dealing another blow to Angel as he had to be dragged away.
Angel: Jesus thank God.
Adelita: Angel? What are you doing here?
Angel: What do you mean?
Adelita: You have to go, all of you.
Angel: What are you talking about? We came for you.
Adelita: No, I can't go. This is what needs to happen. Potter thinks I'm the threat. If he has me, he'll stop chasing everything else. Montserrat, Galindo, it all keeps going. Everything we planned.
Angel: Come on, come on.
Adelita: Angel, I need you to keep it going, please. Promise me. We'll be fine.
Angel: Please don't.
Adelita: You have to let me go.
The M.C. risked their lives to rescue her, and she just said no.
She knew Potter would never stop coming for her, so she once again sacrificed herself to protect the mission.
But what about her baby? Potter blatantly told her that he intended to use the child as leverage so why wouldn't she escape until the baby was born at least.
Angel: It's my kid. Adelita. It's my fucking kid. It's my kid.
Bishop: Jesus Christ.
Angel: I'm sorry. We connected that day at the casino. I started doing the relief runs with her; it just happened, man. We didn't want to step on business, so we kept it quiet.
Bishop: Anyone else know it's your kid?
Angel: No, she wouldn't let me tell anyone. You dont want to argue with her.
She doesn't have much longer. She could've had the baby and then surrendered herself to protect everyone else.
And let's not forget that she mentioned Galindo in her speech to Angel about why she needed to stay behind.
Miguel Galindo, who is actually Miguel Reyes even though he doesn't know it yet, is undoubtedly intelligent in the world of business and running a criminal enterprise.
But affairs of the heart? Not so much. Emily, on the other hand, seems pretty aware.
Potter may not be able to read Miguel, but Emily sure can.
Miguel acted as if Emily's question was ridiculous when she asked if he loved Adelita.
He told Emily no and then turned around and all but professed his love for Adelita.
In what he obviously thought was an explanation about how he doesn't love her, his words came across quite different.
He spoke of her with such admiration and love. His whole facial expression softened.
He was utterly distraught that she got captured. There's no way that he would be that affected over someone who is merely a business associate.
While it's possible that Adelita doesn't share the same fondness for Miguel, there is no doubt about his feelings for her.
Emily: The way you talk about her; it's obvious there's a connection. Is it more than that? Do you love her?
Miguel: What? No, no, no, God no, Em. It's nothing like that. There is no... Look, I went from hating Adelita to understanding her and eventually respecting her. I mean, the things she did. For these past few months watching her singular devotion. I mean, this selfless need to help her people. I mean, it's potent, and it's beautiful. I grew envious. I wanted some of that.
Emily: Mm
Miguel: You're right. I've gone out of my way to be around Adelita, but it wasnt about her. It was about me.
Emily: You know, the things you did in the other world, the conflict that spun inside of you. I was always your touch stone, Miguel. You know, our family, our lives, your business, everything on this side of the border was honest and real. That's the thing you wanted to be around — that's what you thought was beautiful.
Miguel: Oh, I still do, Mi Amor.
I was really curious who Emily would go to first once she discovered the photograph of Felipe in Dita's room, and I was pleased to learn that it was Felipe.
Their encounter was genuine, and you could see that Emily was a part of EZ's family.
Felipe appeared to be very fond of Emily which is quite different compared to how Dita feels about Emily.
Mayans M.C. Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Camazotz
Emily seemed to heed Felipe's subtle warning about the truth hurting the people she loved, but when he asked if Miguel had seen the photos she knew there was something more.
Either she now knows that Miguel is Felipe's son or she will soon. Those wheels will keep turning, and she will remember the look on Felipe's face and she will figure it out.
Let's talk about Bishop for a minute. He normally seems so calm, and level headed, but watch out when he's provoked.
Poor Angel had to learn that the hard way. Bishop is a smaller man, but it took him no time to overpower Angel.
Angel let his anger take over and decided to throw a punch forcing Bishop to show him exactly why he's the club president.
Bishop was so confused about Angel's outbursts, but once he discovered Angel was the father of Adelita's baby he slipped right back into his fatherly role.
Did anyone catch the song playing during the car chase? It was a cover of Black Is Black sung by Kurt Sutter's wife Katey Sagal who also played Gemma Teller on Sons Of Anarchy.
