New Promo for The Vampire Diaries: Love Sucks

Love sucks.

It's a phrase that's been uttered by countless teenagers around the world.

But in the following new promo for The Vampire Diaries, we have a feeling the show is taking the complaint quite literally.

Not much is revealed in the video below, as it features Nina Dobrev - in the role of Elena Gilbert - writing out loud to her diary about the up and downs of love. They're likely compounded when you're the object of two vampires' affections...

Comings & Goings on Season Two of Sons of Anarchy

The second season of Sons of Anarchy returns this September.

But which characters will be returning to the underrated FX drama? E! News has learned the following:

  • Ally Walker's character June Stahl will be back. Expect her to bust a few more of Sam Crow's balls over the coming months.
  • Nord boss Ernest Darby (played by Mitch Pileggi) will return for multiple episodes.

However, Drea de Matteo - who played Wendy, but was just cast on Desperate Housewives - won't make an appearance. Said an FX insider: "Drea is not scheduled to return to Sons of Anarchy."

Oliver to Fall Off the Wagon on Smallville

Fans of Smallville have been besieged by a number of major casting scoops over the last few weeks. For example, Brian Austin Green will star as Metallo, while Callum Blue has landed the role of Zod.

But star Justin Hartley has provided one of the first glimpses into storylines for the show's ninth season.

When asked about his character's near future, Hartley said to E! Online: "I heard Oliver's going to start drinking again. He'd better be a funny drunk. Who wants an angry drunk around?"

That may be a rhetorical question, but we'll answer it anyway: not us.

Danneel Harris Returning to One Tree Hill

The bitch who uttered so many catty One Tree Hill quotes is so back.

Danneel Harris has closed a deal to reprise her role as pot-stirrer Rachel Gatina in at least seven episodes this fall, beginning with the second episode of Season 7.

Harris made her Tree Hill debut as Brooke Davis' high school nemesis in the show's third season but wasn't made a series regular until One Tree Hill's fourth season.

She was written out in the fifth season of the show after appearing in only a handful of those episodes, an apparent victim of the show's four-year flash forward.

In other One Tree Hill news, the last of next season's new contract roles has gone to 90210 grad Jana Kramer, who will play Alexis, a model for Brooke's clothing line.

As previously reported, Robert Buckley and relative newcomer Shantel VanSanten are also joining the cast as Nathan's sports agent and Haley's sister respectively.

Huge Ratings for Hung

Ray Drecker's penis isn't the only thing that's big about Hung.

The series premiere of the HBO series delivered 2.8 million viewers in its 10 p.m. timeslot Sunday; combined with its midnight replay, the show drew 3.7 million viewers.

Those figures make Hung - a light-hearted drama about a depressed high school coach who becomes a gigolo - the highest-rated HBO premiere since John From Cincinnati.

Call Boy

Undoubtedly helping Hung's cause was the major ratings garnered these days by True Blood, which preceded the new show.

Sunday's installment was the series most-watched ever, bringing in 3.7 million viewers in its 9 p.m. timeslot, and 5.1 million overall.

Glee to Introduce Ken Tanaka, Love Quadrangle

While only one episode of Glee has aired, fans are already buzzing about the potential love triangle between Finn/Quinn/Rachel.

But viewers will also need to be an eye on a potential quadrangle among the adults:

There's Will, who is married to Terri; while Emma is clearly pining for Will. Early in the first full season of the show, though, the school's football coach will enter the picture.

Glee fans will meet Ken Tanaka (pictured, played by Patrick Gallagher, who portrays Chow on True Blood), a fairly creepy staff member. The actor told E! News of his character:

"I think you understand where Ken comes from as they go on. You understand where the bitterness comes from, and people may start to like him a little. Ken will keep going [after Emma]. Ken will go after what he wants. The one thing Ken won't do is give up."
