Private Practice Details

Private Practice is an ABC drama that stars Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Montgomery - formerly Dr. Addison Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy.

After the third season of the hit medical drama, she was written off the show and into its new spin-off, Private Practice. The third season of Grey's included a strange, two-hour episode that featured Addison traveling to L.A. as sort of a trial balloon for the spin-off idea.

The first season of Private Practice was cut short by the writers' strike, and it never returned in Spring 2008. But its second season is debuting in Fall 2008, and the show hopes to find balance and overcome obstacles such as lackluster writing and uneven characters.

With Walsh leading the charge, the series also stars Tim Daly, Taye Diggs, Audra McDonald, Chris Lowell, Amy Brenneman, Paul Adelstein and KaDee Strickland.
