Ben and Margene Relationship to Take Next Step on Big Love

Last week, Ginnifer Goodwin said that her character on Big Love "does something next season that in my own esteem is so horrible that I had trouble even performing it."

Talk about a major teaser!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, series co-creator Mark V. Olsen may have at least shed some light on what the actress is referencing above. Referring to Ben and Margene, he said:

“We have flirted for three years with [that] relationship. And this year we finally decided to pay it off.”

Considering the events that ended last season, during which Ben smooched his step-mother, there's only one way in which the show can pay this off. We're giddy just thinking about that scandal.

Big Love returns to HBO on January 10.

Big Love Planning Wedding, "Horrible" Storyline for Margene

Ho-hum. Another season of Big Love, another wedding to plan for.

Sources have confirmed that Amanda Seyfried's Sarah will be getting married when the HBO hit returns; the series will also introduce a new set of in-laws for her in Scott’s conservative parents, Mr. and Mrs. Quitman.

However, Ginnifer Goodwin (Margene) wouldn't reveal a word about this storyline when pressed by TV Guide Magazine.

As for the future of her character?

"Margene does something next season that in my own esteem is so horrible that I had trouble even performing it," the actress said.

Wow. We didn't think it was possible to look forward any more to Big Love's return on January 10 than we already do!

The Most Disturbing Big Love Spoiler Yet

When Big Love returns in early 2010, it will do so with one of its most disturbing storylines yet:

Viewers will learn that the parents of Wanda and J.J. were brother and sister.  We'll give you a moment to let that sink in...

Wanda and J.J.

Also, prepare to meet Roman’s tiny nephew, Toby, and his six wives; as well as Bill’s almost-fourth wife Ana and her Serbian fiancé Ivan.

Big Love to Introduce New Characters

The new season of Big Love kicks off in January.

As previously announced, Zeljko Ivanek will return to the HBO hit as J.J. - and he won't come back alone.

Bill and His Ladies

Viewers will meet the character's parents early in season four, as we can't wait to see the adults responsible for J.J. and Wanda. As for others to be introduced in early 2010?

Look for Ana's fiancé from Serbia to make an appearance.

Ivanek has been a busy man. He appeared on Heroes last season, earned an Emmy for his work on Damages and will likely reprise his role as the Magister on True Blood at some point.

Premiere Date Announced for Big Love

HBO has announced a premiere date for the fourth season of Big Love. The show will start airing new episodes on January 10, 2010.

As previous spoilers have revealed, Sissy Spacek has been added to the cast. She'll start as a Washington, D.C., lobbyist and her character's arc will begin in the third episode.

Big Casting News for Big Love: Sissy Spacek Joins Cast

Big Love has to hurry up and set a premiere date for its fourth season. We need to know how many days to cross off our calendar!

The latest exciting news surrounding this HBO hit is that Sissy Spacek will play a "powerful Washington D.C. lobbyist" for multiple episodes, according to the Los Anegles Times.

The Oscar winner, who has starred in too many hit films to list, is the latest addition to the show. Other actors cast for season four include:

  • Bella Thorne, who will replace Jolean Wejbe as Barb and Bill's youngest daughter;
  • Ben Koldyke as Dale, a state-appointed trustee and love interest for Alby.

Bella Thorne Cast as Barb's Daughter on Big Love

Bella Thorne has landed a key role on Big Love.

The young actress, who has appeared on My Own Worst Enemy and Dirty Sexy Money, will take on the recurring role of Barb’s daughter Tancy on the HBO hit's fourth season. This character was played in earlier seasons by Jolean Wejbe.

Earlier this week, Ben Koldyke was also cast on the show. He'll play Alby's lover, Dale.

Ben Koldyke Cast as Gay Character on Big Love

A relative newcomer has been cast in Big Love as Alby's gay lover, Dale.

Ben Koldyke joins the show for its upcoming fourth season. He'll portray the aforementioned recurring character, who has been struggling with his homosexuality in the gay reparative group, Evergreen.

“We want them to be a sexy couple you’ll root for,” executive producer Mark V. Olsen recently said of Dale and Alby, ominously adding: “It will not end well.”

Koldyke's only other small screen role was as a random police officer on season two of 24. No premiere date for the fourth season of Big Love has been announced yet, but we posted a preview of it last month.

Coming to Big Love: Sons, Suitors and More!

Roman Grant is dead.

As a result, his Big Love family will be branching out on season four of hit drama, which premiers in January 2010.

Look for Selma, Grant's sister, to be sprung from jail and end up in Mexico. Later in the season, viewers will discover she has two grown sons, as actress Sandy Martin joked: "my eggs are flowing!"

Also, Roman’s widow has seen her power in the clan vanish - but Adaleen will begin to welcome suitors as the season progresses.

“The widow wives of a deceased prophet are like jewels in a crown that many want to obtain,” executive producer Mark V. Olsen told the publication.

As for Roman’s gay son, Alby? He’s got a new lover, Dale, but don't expect this relationship to have a happy ending.

“We want them to be a sexy couple you’ll root for,” said Olsen, “but it will not end well.”

Big Love Sets January Premiere Date

Although no exact premiere date has been set yet, HBO has at least announced that Big Love will return to the air some time in January.

The network has revealed little about the new season, but executives did voice their displease, at this week's Television Critics Association press tour, that the cast didn't pick up a single Emmy nomination.

"It's such a spectacular cast that I thought at least one of them would be recognized. Yes, we were surprised that at least one of them wasn't recognized," said HBO co-president Richard Plepler.
