All My Children is a soap opera that has aired on ABC since 1970. The title of the show, reportedly, is a reference to the brotherhood of man.
The series is set in Pine Valley, which is a made-up suburb of Philadelphia.
The show ranked first in the daytime Nielsen Ratings from 1978-1979. Throughout most of the 1980s and into the early 1990s, All My Children was the number-two daytime drama on the air. These days, though, it's closer to the bottom of the rankings than to the top.
The most famous All My Children star, by far, is Susan Lucci. She's been nominated for 19 Emmy Awards.
