The series features an ensemble cast, headed by its longest-tenured actors Susan Flannery as Stephanie Forrester; John McCook as Eric Forrester; Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan and Ronn Moss as Ridge Forrester.

The drama was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. It was originally meant to be a sister show to The Young and the Restless.

The Bold and the Beautiful is the only soap on television that runs for just 30 minutes. It premiered on March 23, 2007.
